Our STAR One actors too adore Lord Ganesha and love this festival, and are awaiting to welcome him with great pomp. Ganeshji and Karthik had a competition about who is more intelligent. Karthik took three rounds of the earth, while Ganeshji simply went around his parents thrice. His parents were his world.
Which has been your best memory of the festival?
Whenever I feel that I have done something wrong, somehow, I also think about Siddhivinayak Mandir. I try to visit the mandir on all Tuesdays, as I feel I have some special connection with it.
Best pandal you ever visited on Ganesh Chaturthi ?
I have visited many pandals, but I feel that the decoration at Lal Baugcha Raja is the best.
What is your most favourite part of celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi?
All the days that Ganpatiji is at my home are my favourite .When it is time for him to leave, I feel like some family member is going away. When I was a kid, I never used to understand why my mother used to serve Ganpatiji before all of us. I used to get jealous and eat the bhog kept for Ganpatiji, but now, I understand the true meaning of the festival.
In the spirit of going green, do you think the festival should be celebrated in a environment-friendly manner? What suggestions would you give people in this respect?
The rate at which water is being polluted is bad and harmful for our health. So, yes, I would suggest that people buy eco-friendly Ganpatis, as they cause less damage to the environment.
What are your plans for the festival this year?
I will be bringing Ganpati home for five days this year. I am also planning to wear the traditional navvari sari on the day that Ganpatiji comes home.
