TV stars love it when they are busy and by that token Aasiya Kazi must be over the moon because ever since her debut in Bandini two-and-a-half years ago, she has been working without a break.
Within two weeks of Bandini going off air, she started shooting for Mati Ki Banno, which closed recently. Now, she is busy shooting for her third daily Dharampatni. But the busier she is the happier she gets.
"I am enjoying every moment of it. One show ends and another starts and I never get time to think about what's next," says the young actress.
"For every newcomer, the first serial always offers you plenty to learn from various sources — your co-actors and director."
She goes on, "Dharampatni is a story of unwavering love and the commitment of a woman towards her husband and her household and it traces this journey of a woman through Kastur." Elaborating on the character she adds, "Kastur embodies everything that's traditional. She is a simple woman and deeply rooted in her Gujarati culture."
Aasiya doesn't reveal much about the story, except to say, "Mohan is an aimless man and lacks ambition. But Kastur works tirelessly for his success."
Bandini was a success while Mati Ki Banno sank without a trace.
"People loved me as Santo and I am hoping that they will accept me as Kastur," she says.
