the man u said looking dog like was a trible king Jambavan. and krishna married his daughter , may be for he wants to put the example in front of his humans that he belives in equality and not castes and tribes and upper class and others.
this is just a theory, but then krishna's life-mantra is said to be love. so the mantra he can give from this may be 'love all, respect all'.
abt his so many marriages , then it was like a custom those days, to marry many girls sothat support from their states will be with u when u need it.
abt Rukmini , then she was always first and love of his life.
The demon Narakaasura was the evil king of Pragjyotishapura, Power made the demon king arrogant and he became dangerous to his subjects and even to the gods. He ruled with a reign of terror, abducted 16,000 daughters of the gods,…LORD KRISHNA KILLED NARKASUR AND RESCUED THE GIRLS…. TO GIVE THEM NAME AND RESPECT IN THE SOCIETY HE MARRIED ALL OF THEM..though they were not his wife literally. he just gave his name to all of them so that they could not be accused and should gain respect in the society...
he truly loved radha ji...(his childhood frnd)
but krishna ji dint marry radha ji...(don noe why)
Ratilal is correct about the reason Krishna married 16,100 (not 16,000) damsels. Mustimuskaan isn't - Krishna did marry them, but they were not his 8 principal wives, and he only married them to give them the status of married women, as opposed to concubines that they were under Narakasura.
On Krishna's other 8 wives, the serial has more or less accurately portrayed his first 3 marriages - Rukmini wanted to marry him, while Jambavati's & Satyabhama's fathers gave them to him. Some women were and are okay w/ being given away in marriage by their parents to anybody, and that was the case w/ these 2, as well as I think Bhadra and Satya. Mitravindya was again another like Rukmini who wanted to marry Krishna, and she was successfully taken to Dwarka by Krishna while Arjun defeated her brothers. Kalindi was the daughter of a Rajarshi who wanted to marry Krishna, and who Arjun found in the Khandavprastha forest, so he took her to Krishna, who took her back to Dwarka & married her. Lakshmanaa was won in a Swayamvar very similar to Draupadi's.
Since polygamy was allowed in those times for rulers, and Krishna had a policy of marrying anybody who wanted to marry him (including those handed over by their fathers), he married those 8. And the remaining 16,100 he married for humanitarian reasons.
