... and part to meet!
[Reemz - I'm doing a quick update for you right now, but I'll be back to update this post guys and do my *cough* not so brief detailing... so this is make shift arrangement until...]
* Kesar takes the driver to MB and gets him to spill the beans about Durgesh and his role. We get FBs of the accident but basically MB stops Kesar from 'punishing' the driver with his own hands and tells him to hand him over to law - because he doesn't want Kesar to get involved in something as low. Maine bohot andhera dekha liya, aur nahin dekha paunga... A nicely played out scene - albeit a little hasty wrap up for the big murder mystery - but all that until PB enters the scene. Oh that freak witch! The talk comes around to Gullu and Kesar (in silent speaking of the scene) tells them Gulaal's reason to keep the truth a secret and both MB and PB still maintain that it was Gulaal's farz to tell them about the truth because they are Vasant's parents. They hold her wrong - something I don't entirely disagree with, and never have - but then PB opens her mouth and tells Kesar she only waits for tomorrow when the DV will break and she will get her son back š” Really woman, have you not an iota understanding of your own flesh and blood?! 𤢠Kesar leaves, disheartened, and miffed.
* Kulli come to Gulaal and tell her they are going to marry in a mandir day after tomorrow (Which is day after DV breaks) and he expects Gulaal and Kesar to be the only ones to come... No idea whatever happened to Sudha. Gulaal tries to say how family and consent matters, but Kesar walks in, and Kesu and Kunnu become all brothers in arms in how unfair it is of families to not understand their own children! Gulaal ultimately gives in, when Talli says her happiness is hence. Oh well - that sets up stage for an interesting GK moment (despite Kulli presence) where they will probably perform rites of the wedding for the couple a day after breaking their own DV - boy oh boy!
*The moment Kulli leave (the CVs were in such a hurry to get them out, lol, they didn't even make Talli comment on the revamped condition of her ujada pujda ghar once upon a time!) Gulaal asks Kesar what those people said a topic Kesar wants to avoid, but tells her she will never go back to that house - he will not let her, they will never understand her. A small but significant scene which I think is consequential in Gulaal calling off the DV in the precap. On a side note, I love the way Kesar tells her to take the decision thinking only for herself - but trust Gulaal to never do that. She wants to break the DV - and honestly, this scene has to be a major major reason. Anyway, at this point shye says agar issi mein sabki khushi hai, to yehi sahi...
* Useless Giga-JK-Sudha-Raman sequence, you don't care about. Then a scene showing PB and MB at dinner alone and MB thinks of happier days of joint meal times (and in his FB he watches Gullu serve Raman grrr!) MJ is a fantastic actor. I wish we didn't have to deal with PB, no kidding.
* The awaited GK scene. Gullu is cooking dinner and Kesar surprises her by clicking shots - she asks him what he's doing taking pictures (duh Gullu! SRK movies nahi dekhti tum!? š ) and he says before Panchayat tomorrow, he wants to capture as as much of her in his camera as he can. Exact dialogs:
G: mujhe tasveer khichana acha nahi lagta (holds up hand to her face to avoid)
K: Bachpan mein to shauq se khichati thi do chotiyaan karke (LOL KESAR! š )
G: Tab ki baat aur thi
K: Haan. Ab to tum do chotiyaan bhi nahi karti 𤣠bichara is so deprived of the sight of her open hair, hint dera hai, par gullu samjhe tab na!!!
G: Tujhse behas mein kahan jeetungi (3rd time is this?!) Acha khich le (and then awww! we get Kesar crazy clicking away pictures and Gulaal actually does some cute naughty poses, especially this one where she holds up the laddle and Kesar looks at her amused and then takes the picture all excited... aww aww aww āŗļø
***added after editing post****
There is this bit in here, when Kesar tells Gulaal he wants to capture her memories in his camera this last night - Gulaal gets that look which has been coming to her eyes and face the last couple days, the obviously melting but oblivious of it kind - which Kesar kinda of misreads (I think) he quickly tells her she doesn't need to stop her work, she can continue and he will take the pictures without disturbing... for a moment their Kesar's eyes (to me) were eyes of a man who not only lives with unrequited love, but with cognizance of the fact that his eternal love for this woman hurts her, discomforts her, even offended her - like nothing else! I personally think this understanding breaks him even more than not getting her love back - the fact that his love is a reason of her inner discord...! Except, he doesn't realize the axis of that discord has begun to shift... its now her dilemma between what she's beginning to realize she could have wanted, if it wasn't coming so heavily in the way of what she must sacrifice... Oh Gulaal! Once a saint, always a saint?!
***
Anyway, then yes he tells Gulaal one picture of us together, and he moves towards her as does she, and they have their classic awkward momentary lapse, but Gullu snaps out by telling him to take the picture and Kesar says, thoda paas ana padega... very matter of factly really, but ofc, I'm all reminded of SRK's aur paas! āŗļø He takes the picture - and then comes the bit that breaks my heart into countless pieces, Kesar laughs at the sight of the picture - oh this was so well done, Neil beats his own self every day! The nuances of emotion in that bittersweet and fatefully hit laugh ... and she asks him why he's laughing, he says he got half cut even in the last picture with her... the precap scene plays... Although I thought Kesar went overboard taking her pictures earlier, I really like how it contrasts with the scene now, where Gulaal tells hijm to take another - because really wasn't he clicking away a billion shots of her seconds ago? But Kesar says he's content with this, kal ke baad pata nahi teri zindagi mein itna bhi rahunga ya nahi š„ŗ - the irony of his tone, the way he accepts his fate, with a heavy heart, yet telling himself this is what was writtenb for, this is all he can get, or deserves... oh its such a heart breaking moment! Its evident Gulaal's heart for one is breaking. The sound is loud in the silence of that moment. He tells her he's not hungry and goes off to sleep. Gulaal's eyes follow him - they are hollow, and pained. Its obvious how hit they both are by this separation - which is why its obvious she has not paid heed to Kesar's word and not taken the DV decision thinking only about herself - I think she'll never learn to do that. Thank god there is Kesar to make up for her on that account. Oh well.
Of course, neither of them really sleep. We get a classic Kekta moment here - but really its so beautiful with these two, I'm in awe! They show Gulaal on the bed and Kesar on the floor, and Gulaal turns to look at him, his back is on her, the gild of her bangles make patterns on her face... and the sight is just so moving and beautiful all at once! Excellent camera work, as always! The obvious emotions of loss are all over her face. Then she turns the other way, which is when Kesar turns around to find her back on him - classic Kekta didn't I say?! - He is disheartened as can be... or so I thought, until I saw his eyes in the precap... š„ŗ
* Morning scene. JK is taking Talli to go to Panchayat with MB's family, cause Giga has insisted. MB is presiding as Sarpanch in Dushy's absence. He asks them what their decision is now, after 3 months. Precap - Kesar tells Gulaal to think only about herself and take the decision. Gulaal says she still wants to break the DV. Kesar's face zooms in - and I have no words to describe the pain in them. Sigh, sigh, and sigh.
I'll try to be back to do more detailing/analysis soon - but this for now - not as brief as the bullets I was intending to make, I can never not get carried away!
Chip in folks,

***edit - final addition to the post***
As Nur pointed out, the pointed 'lack' of proximity in their scene today was obvious... there was so much to say about it! Usually, the proximity does begin with Kesar... and it happens naturally, yet today was like his need to just... sort of have that gap. When he told her he's not hungry and will just crash for the night - for a second you want to pull him back and not waste one second of the precious moments he's got now - and may never again have! It's like that last night at graduation year college trips, when you just wont sleep a wink, cause you know it may be the last time like this, with all these people... You want to be alert and awake every minute of it - and remember every little detail so vividly, that you can remember it like a pristine something years and years later! And you wonder, how Kesar - who makes such a point of making the best and most of time - is willingly walking away for the night? But then you know why! Because he just can't bear another moment of being with her when all he's thinking of is tomorrow and after... He doesn't sleep cause he can't - but he can't just stand making happy memories over a dinner meal either, when his heart is breaking inside like that! His never ending spirit to satisfy himself, and genuinely strive to be happy with whatever little he has does have an end after all... and this night of all nights, he just can't hold up his effort to generate happiness inside of him in the void he knows he has volunteered to live with... The way he tells her that they need to come closer for the shot - is so fact like and just a statement, and yet... for the bond they've now shared, hugs, and touches and all that - it's almost his subconscious way of verbalizing this will be it...
Overall, I did like the episode very much. For once I actually got happy about Kulli, cause they've already set up stage for GK to come together day after - that for an occasion that is sure to give Gulaal the jolts.
Honestly - the night time lying down scene went quite far in depicting how much of the jolt she can already feel. She's not just beginning to sense it - she's beginning to comprehend it as well - but Kesar's little afternoon comment, and the finality of what her status verses that house now is, shall not allow her to dare, if there was even an inkling of a chance. I think what we will see in her realization phase now is not simply that she loves Kesar - cause honestly her signs her already showing at that - but that she loves him too much to let him go - even for that family... that her sense of endless sacrifice too, like Kesar's undying attempt to find happiness in her happiness even if without her - is just as futile at the end of the day and has a mortal limit too!
What I like all the more about the scene is how Kesar is taking all these signs from Gulaal - especially was today - as her being hurt in hurting him, which can be complexly translated to his love for her hurting her - and the final Gulaal verdict on still wanting to break the DV will seal that fact for him... so much, that when she does come around finally, he is going to be in for the grandest surprise of his life! He hit rock bottom the first time he offered to break the DV - this time is a new found all time low... and again, he can only rise from here!
