Abhay glared at her with his ice blues that appeared colder than usual as he helped the poor girl up. The whole college was looking at her but not daring to laugh or snigger at her for two reasons ' One, that she had Abhay's arm around her shoulder and two, she was Jeh's sister.
Abhay ( helping Alina stand straight )- Are you hurt, Alina?...( his eyes darting back at T and her bimbo gang )'..everytime I think you can't get cheaper than this, you hit a new low T!
Abhay picks up Alina's glasses and carefully puts them on her , taking care not to hurt her delicate peach ears as he tucks her hair strands behind her ears.
Alina ( meekly , holding on to Abhay's arms as the crowd's eyes bored into her )- I.. I am fine, Abhay' really. Thank you.
T ( pouting her pink lips )- Tch, tch, Abhay. Forget about my lows, talk about your own. Hitting on a sidey nobody like Alina? Oh wait a minute! You must be doing this to spite her brother Jeh, huh?
Abhay ( making Alina sit on a bench)- Cut that out, T because that's your character, not mine. If I have to deal with Jeh , I will do it one-on-one, man-to-man and for that I don't need to use his sister'.( looks at the slippery floor on which Alina had slipped and hurt herself badly )'.spreading body oils on floors to make people fall and break their bones! Great. I am sure Jeh will be super happy to find out what you did to his sister and maybe you will get a repeat telecast of the last shove that he gave you.
Tracker ( looking at Alina's foot )- Abhay , I think she has sprained her ankle'.( touches Alina's foot and she squirms)'it hurts bad , right? T, you sick biatch. I hope you die of a plastic surgery malfunction and a Botox overdose.
T ( shrugging her shoulders and going away )- I don't care, cheapo. Aid to the sidey piglet and her broken claw' am off!
Abhay ( looking at rest of the students )- The matinee show is over! Get the hell out of here now, if you can't be of any help.
Kabir comes running at this point and sees all the mess and how hurt Alina is.
Kabir ( concerned )- Are you much hurt, Alina? T is badnews.com , man. You should be staying away from her.
Abhay ( curtly )- She has sprained her ankle, Kabir. T's usual war with Jeh and look who gets caught in between ' Alina' ( signaling Tracker )' we are taking her to the infirmary and maybe hospital later. I don't have Jeh on my cellphone, so please inform him, hmm?
Kabir ( nods )- No worries, Abhay. I will just inform Jeh. You take her'.( gritting his teeth)' I better start dating T again, at least she will be busy cooking her crappy khichdi and not hurt people! Such a brat!
Tracker ( screaming more than Alina as she gets on her feet )- Careful, careful, careful!
Alina ( smiling through pain as Abhay slides an arm around her waist and helps her get up)- I haven't even stood up on my feet , yet, Roohi.
Abhay ( handling her like a small child )- Slowly, Alina. Don't put weight on your sprained foot ' put it on the left one and lean on me'.( rolls his eyes at Tracker )' Tracker , you are supposed to support her, not hang onto her neck.
Tracker ( blinks her eyes at him)- Oops! Sorry.
However , Alina is not able to walk at all and tears well up in her eyes . Abhay senses that her body is trembling and her fingers are tightening around Abhay and Roohi's neck. Kabir tells them to stop there and then.
Kabir ( worriedly)- Stop guys. I don't think Alina can walk down to the infirmary.
Abhay ( looking at Alina whose face is blotched red due to the pain and not crying )- Hmm. I can see that now. No problem. Alina, I guess I will have to carry you to the infirmary.
Roohi and Kabir almost faint and Alina looks at a straight-faced Abhay as though he has gone mad.
Alina ( pushing her spectacles up her little nose )- Carry me? Are you crazy? Jeh will hang me upside down and kill you.
Abhay ( unruffled )- He will kill me in his own sweet time and I won't let him hang you upside down. Now, shut up and let me help you.
Abhay bends a little and carefully lifts Alina off the ground, gathering her in his arms like a baby.
Just then, Jeh and Piya come rushing to the corridor and are stunned at the sight . Jeh is furious at the sight and Piya looks daggers at Abhay.
Jeh ( rushing to the group )- ABHAY! How dare you! Put my sister down, rightaway! You are forbidden to touch her.
Kabir ( stopping Jeh midway to stop him from pouncing on Abhay and Alina )- Jeh, Jeh, Jeh! Chill'.I was about to call you. Alina has sprained her ankle and she cannot walk at all. Abhay is just carrying her down to the infirmary.
Abhay ( calmly )- T played a dirty prank on her since she loves you so much and you always break her heart , Jeh.
Jeh ( his anger diverting )- T! Last time, I just shoved her but this time I am going to put her in a washing machine and wash my clothes with her blood!...( not wanting to thank Abhay)' give her to me, Raichand. I can carry her to the infirmary. I am thankful but'. Just stay away from my sister , okay?
Kabir ( calming Jeh)- Stop it, Jeh! Why do you and Abhay want to drag Alina in your animosity '( eyeing Piya who is fuming over Abhay in silent fury )'. As it is , there are enough people between you to keep you fighting.
Piya looks at Kabir in shock who looks embittered with her. Kabir had told Piya few days back that she needs to stop playing with Jeh's heart to hurt Abhay. Because in the end , she will not only prove a loser lover but a loser friend as well! Piya looks away , hurt by Kabir's dig at her.
Jeh sees that people are seeing and calming himself down , he clears the way and lets Abhay carry Alina to the infirmary.
Piya ( walking with them )- Don't worry, Alina. You are going to be just fine'( giving a side glare to Abhay)' am sure that you are feeling a little better already in Abhay's arms'( everyone looks at her and she clears her throat )' I mean, it must be paining less now, since that Abhay is carrying you.
Alina ( not getting Piya's sarcasm )- Oh no, Piya. Its paining horribly but it was sweet of Abhay to help me. I don't know why T hates Jeh so much.
Abhay ( kindly to her )- T hates everyone, Alina. Don't worry. Jeh will deal with her.
Jeh ' Yep, I will. But Alina, you are not coming to the college again without my permission. Get it?
They all reach the infirmary and Abhay carefully puts Alina into the bed as the nurse looks at her sprain. Jeh sits next to Alina , taking her hand while Abhay steps back.
Nurse ( touching Alina's foot )- It's a bad sprain, child. I will put an ointment and do the bandage but I suggest you get an X-Ray done immediately.
Jeh ' I will do that, sister.
Abhay ( taking leave )- I think am not needed here now, so I shall take your leave , Alina'( smiles at her and chooses not to look at Jeh )'. You take care of yourself and I will check on you later to see how you are doing.
Piya ( cutting in)- She is fine! I mean, she will be fine, Abhay. We are here to look after her . Don't worry. There is no need to call her or check on her ' we will let you know how she is.
Alina ( getting upset )- Piya, please! You can't talk to Abhay like that! He helped me , he stood up for me in font of that T and I will not stand anybody talking rude to him.
Jeh ( livid)- Alina! Don't talk to Piya like that. Whatever she is saying is for your own good.
Alina ( looking hurt )- I am your own sister , Jeh and this is the second time you are asking me to shut uo for this girl because she is your girlfriend'..( shoots Piya a look )'. I don't know why you and Piya hate Abhay so much and I don't care either. He was the first person on this town who was nice to me and he just helped me out'.for me , he is my friend and I will not take anyone'..( narrowing her eyes at Piya )' and I mean, ANYONE, talking to him like that.
Nurse ( silencing everyone )- This is an infirmary , children. Silence . Alina, not another word, okay? Am giving you an injection.
Kabir ( taps Abhay on his shoulder s he signals Roohi)- Lets go. I think it was enough drama for the day .
Abhay ( looks at Piya with a meaningful expression )- Talk about drama and how'( smiles at Alina )' get well soon, Alina.
Alina smiles at him as Jeh pats her forehead , not wanting to look at Abhay.
Abhay , Kabir and Roohi come out of the infirmary and Piya comes charging out , blocking Abhay's way.
Piya ( looking at Abhay )- Kabir, Tracker , GO. I need to speak to Abhay alone.
Kabir ( rolls his eyes )- Not again, Piya. Why can't you just prance around with Jeh and leave Abhay alone? Just stay away from him, okay? That whole ABHAY THE KILLER DRAMA was ENOUGH.
Tracker ( timidly )- Don't fight with Abhay, Piya. He didn't do anything wrong today ' he was supersweet to Alina and tolerably nice to Jeh.
Piya ' That is what I want to talk about and NOW!
Abhay ( looking at Kabir and Roohi )- Let me sort this out, guys, or else she will stalk me to my house.
Kabir and Roohi look at Abhay unsurely and then at Piya. Then, they leave. As soon as they are out of the sight, Abhay looks at Piya, crossing his arms across his chest.
Abhay ( looking at his wrist watch )- You have exactly two minutes to blow your crap. And your time starts now, Piya. After that , stay away from me .
Piya ( holding Abhay by his collar and literally shaking him )- What's your plan?
Abhay ( shrugs his shoulders )- How do I know, Piya? You always seem to know my plans better than me. I had a plan to destroy Misha's life , ruin Pancchi's life , I am the one who landed Dipannita Khurana in a coma , I am trying to play with your life, I spend my free time hatching plans to hurt Jeh and THE BLAH' so'.( gently taking her hands away from his collar )' since you know me so well, you tell me what is my plan.
Piya ( angry tears springing in her eyes )- Alina! You are using Alina to hurt Jeh and me! I saw it in her eyes! She adores you and I HATE THAT VERY THOUGHT! Just stay away from her !
Abhay ( calmly )- Calm down, Piya. For a change, I don't have a plan. Alina is somebody I genuinely like and care about. And if you think am using her to hurt Jeh or devastate you, then, '.( thinks)'. All I can say is that am amazed that this is all you could make of me . When I pretended with floozies , Misha and Pancchi , I did it so that I could keep you away from me. I don't need to do it anymore because you have chosen to forget me and be happy with Jeh. '..( turns away)'. This conversation holds no meaning, Piya. You branded me a killer in front of the whole world last week ' so stick to your hatred. And if you are worried that something is on between me and Alina , then, you are free to think what you like. Jeh's anger and your immature envy is not going to stop me from caring about her. So, back off.
Piya ( her voice trembling )- Why do you care so much about her?
Abhay ( still not looking at Piya )- Because I see someone familiar in her. Somebody who is innocent , vulnerable , helpless and needs to be saved .
Piya ( forcing Abhay to look at her )- Me? You see me in her?
Abhay ( shaking his head )- There is no one else like you in this world. I cannot see you in anyone , ever. '..( wipes her tears off her cheek and moves away from her )'. I see myself in Alina. That familiar feeling of being all alone and nobody wanting you as you are. Alina is reflection of what I used to be'. Before'
Piya ( wanting to hear it from his mouth )'. Before?
Abhay ( with a fond stillness in his voice )- Before you happened'..
