There was recently an issue, based on which I would like to raise these questions...
Definition of a Forum:
A medium for open discussion or voicing of ideas, such as a newspaper, a radio or television program, or a website.
Those who read this post, please also read the thread 'The Koolest Rishtedar is here"...Page 16 onwards...also... to get an idea of what I am referring to...(This is an example of the manner in which matters are dealt with on IF)...
This was a thread posing questions to one honoured member who answered the questions...It was a fun thread...However, it digressed so much into questions relating to religion with the answers reading like sermons...That I made a jesting remark...''HAVE I ENTERED A SATSANG?????"...Which resulted in the 2 other members giving me long long reasons as to how much this one sentence troubled them and took away their fun...NOTE here...that I had written only ONE sentence...To which the MODS INTERVENED...as you will see for yourself...
Please follow the remarks and replies for 3 members here...malinn (myself), dabulls (Varsha) and nikitagmc... I would sincerely like all those who read...to decide what really happened...
I would like to point out here the way this forum works...There are a group of members...who run repeatedly to the moderators with their 'reports'...the moderators, simply swoop down on the 'so-called offending" members...based on their friend's complaints...and give warnings...
The moderators do not even read the threads or try to understand the matter or the issue... Their intervention is simply to PLEASE their own group of friends... The thread above will give all a good idea of how this works... Nikitagmc has written so much...in a language and tone which is absolutely NOT acceptable to me...And what did the Moderator do??????... What kind of intervention was there??????...Does opening of a thread give the opener the right to tell of any member????? Is there ownership of threads?????
This is nothing short of corruption...the kind we see in India on a day to day basis... You have power...you abuse it...you favor your friends...right or wrong notwithstanding... doing one's job is not part of the job description...only keeping one's friends happy is important...objectivity, fairness, integrity, intelligence, honesty...are words for the dictionary...
So, you want to enjoy the forum...make friends with the 'group'...make sure you only make 'positive' posts...if you want to be negative...gang up on the 'outsider' who dares make a 'negative' comment...show them who's the boss...complaint right away to the 'friends' in high places...be sure that the offensive member knows you are 'connected'...take the higher than thous tone when talking to those offending members...and then make sure your friend seals it with the official warning...WOW...this is fun...
I have said it earlier...and I am saying it again...If an opposing view is stated well...welcome it...it is still that "A POINT OF VIEW'... this habit of squashing down members in the name of maintaining peace and harmony...happiness...positivity...is WRONG...
This post is not for 'you said...'I said'...etc...
This is a simple message to all moderators and members on this forum...who have started thinking that they own this forum...who are allowed to bully other members...by abusing their position and power and group strength...
Then the question that arises is...What is the qualification of a Moderator?????...What is the quality of the Moderator on IF?????...Are they doing justice to their job????...Do they have what it takes to be impartial and fair?????...
Power corrupts...absolute power corrupts absolutely...
I am not looking for any support or objection here...All I want is that there should be fairness...and justice...for the smallest of matters...Please refer my signature...which I have been using for the past 7-8yrs...I swear/stand by it...
