I'm so annoyed at Bharti today. The scene didn't go the way it ought to have. So to rectify the situation I have written another BharLi scene.
Bharti enters the bedroom and sees Murli sitting on the sofa looking through some papers. He hears her come in, looks up with an accusing look on his face and goes back to his papers. Bharti is a little puzzled by this. 'What's wrong with Murli-jee'? she wonders. She walks over to the cupboard and pulls out her nighty and glances over at Murli. He looks up again and when Bharti smiles, he purses his lips disdainfully and doesn't return it. He just carries on with his work.
Bharti is now even more puzzled. 'What has happened to him all of a sudden? Why is he giving me such funny looks?'. But she puts it down to him being busy with work and walks off into the bathroom.
Once she's gone Murli puts down his papers and glumly sits there with his chin resting in his hands. 'Yeh Bharti na. Asha de kar, nirasha kar diya mujhe!' He humphed and bmphed and disheartendly picked up his work again.
A few minutes later Bharti walked back into the room. Murli instinctively looked up and immediately kicked himself for it. Bharti was wearing a different nighty tonight. It was black, had a lower neckline than her usual ones and had an empire line gathering at the bust. To say that Murli's pulse started racing at the sight, was an understatement! Her bheega bhal and black negligee made her look absolutely beautiful. And the fact that she was completely oblivious of this only added to her allure. Bharti smiled at Murli. She took a few steps towards him, and for a moment Murli's smile was as wide as the ocean. Except, she turned and walked towards the crib instead and started playing with the baby!
Murli was incredulous. He started after her open-mouthed and totally annoyed. Bharti played with the baby and was chatting to Murli at the same time, about this and that to do with Bhopu. After a few minutes she suddenly realised that the conversation was very much one-sided. Murli wasn't responding at all. She looked back towards him and noticed that while he appeared to be immersed in his work, he was infact looking at her out of the corner of his eye.
It was only then, Bharti realised what was bothering her usually jovial husband. She walked up to him. "What's wrong? Why are you not talking. All this time I've been talking and you haven't said anything. What's up?". Murli shrugged his shoulders, "kuch nahi". He didn't look up, but his tone told Bharti, that something was most definitely up. She smiled a knowing smile. "Naraz hai mujse?". Murli cleared his throat. "Do I have a reason to be upset with you?"
Bharti replied, "I don't know. Isi liye toh poonch rahi hoon" Murli said nothing and just buried his head deeper into his papers. Bharti walked away, and without looking up Murli couldn't help but breath a dissappointed sigh.
Suddenly he felt a pair of arms wrap themselves around his shoulders, and Bharti's head popped out from behind him. She raised her brows at him, silently asking him if this is what he wanted. Murli pretended not to care. "Abhi bhi naraz hai? Does this not help"? Murli cleared his throat and asked her to let him get on with his work.
Bharti with one arm still wrapped around his shoulders, used the other to turn his face towards her. Murli was now looking straight into his eyes beautiful big brown eyes. He was gone. Completely and utterly. But he sure as hell wasn't going to let her know that. Bharti looked intently into his eyes, then she slowly kissed him on the forehead. "Abhi bhi naraz hai?" Murli says nothing. He just wants to allow that kiss on his skin to linger for a little longer. Bharti then kisses one cheek softly and asks him the same thing again. Murli remains quiet, but sterness of his face has now been replaced by a softness, that melts Bharti's heart. She kisses the other cheek with the same gentleness as the first and repeats her question once again. Bharti's kisses feel like the touch of feathers on Murli's skin. And yet at the same time, there is an electric frisson that awakens every fibre in his body.
Bharti takes a look into his eyes, deep into his eyes and slowly and very softly takes his lips between hers. It leaves Murli utterly captivated and completely helpless. 'How can something so soft feel so powerful and intense?' he wondered. As they kissed, Murli wrapped his arms around Bharti and gently pulled her around the sofa and to him. He glided across the sofa a little and carefully lowered her onto the seat and cradled her head in his hands. He instinctively sought her hand and entangled his fingers in hers. He loosened his lips from hers and kissed her neck and murmured her name before laying his head to rest on her bosom. Bharti strokd the back of his neck and gently teased his hair. "Abhi bhi naraz hai?" she asked in a playful tone. Murli smiled. Still resting his head on her chest, he replied, "I stopped being upset the moment you walked out of the bathroom. bas I just needed you to sooth the last dying embers". Bharti playfully smacked him on the shoulders "Murli-jee!". Murli turned to face her, grabbed her in a bear hug and said in the same playful tone "Kya Bharti-jee?!"
