Santosh tells Dadi that they shouldn't doubt their decision, and should allow Sarika the 3 months which they had promised her. Santosh tells Ghamshyam that it would be unfair on the part of the Poddar family to listen to outsiders and do injustice to Sarika. He agrees for months but also insists that it is not possible to manage home and studies.

Sarika decides that she will not go to college next morning. But at breakfast, Santosh tells her that the family has decided to let her continue. She tells her to get ready for college. Shikha looks annoyed.

Sarika arrives a little late for the biochemistry practical, but Prof Tripathi (the mean one!) smirks and allows her in. He corrects her for something she is doing in the practical, but she goes on the Internet and shows him how this procedure has been tried in an American university. Everyone is impressed by her knowledge. Prof Qureshi sees this and smiles. Prof Tripathi looks furious. Then he gets a phone call from the parent who had offered him 25 lakh to get his son admission. He assures the parent he will get the seat vacated. He thinks--I will make things so difficult for Sarika that her family will force her to leave her studies.

He tells Sarika that he has scheduled 3 extra classes that day. She calls home to tell that she won't be free before 7:30. Santosh is perturbed but tells Jay to pick Sarika up at 7:30. Shikha tells her that 'extra class' is the excuse used by girls who want to go to the movies or with their boyfriends. Santosh is disturbed.
