Maan, Geet & the way they say their name

I was watching new and old scenes of Maaneet and noticed something.

the way Maan or Gurmeet says Geet's name - it sounds like he is saying GRRR EEET... like ACTUALLY growl when calling Geet! and listening to someone like MSK/GC say your name like that that, it could do so many things to one's emotion! If MSK the boss calling you GRRR EEET, one would probably pee their pants! BUT if MSK the husband calls like that... then... haaaii... bhavnao mein behne ke ilava aur kuch karni nahi hain!

In complete contrast to that, the way Geet or Drashti says Maan's - its sooo loving and adorable, and she sounds almost vulnerable!

Anyway, talking crap I know but I am hungry and iftari mein abhi bahooot der hain!

I couldn't agree with you more. GC's voice modulation is fantastic! He has just the right pitch and he has such perfect control over it! It doesn't go overboard... seriously I don't know what I would do if he was my boss and if my name was Geet and if he growled everytime he mentioned my name! Hell I wouldn't know what to do if he was husband and growled everytime he called my name!

As for Drashti Dhami - my favourite actress is Rani Mukherjee and I really think she is a complete actress and there is no one like her! Then I saw Drashti Dhami in Geet and I think she is as complete of an actress as someone like Rani Mukherjee! She really has super improved from the first episodes of Geet. She has such a baby face and a baby (as you say) husky voice, that I am sure she had to work very hard to make sure she looks matured, but at the same time has her own style of dialogue delivery. And she does it SO brilliantly! It is low and seductive when she wants to and very "I am the boss of the house" type!

And you're right... many actressed has those God annoying high pitched voice... that goes mega worse when they shout or cry! Puts one off from watching whatever it is they are watching.

I agree completely. Their voices are perfectly modulated. Gurmeet and Drashti are simply too damn good :D

I love it when they talk to each other--its so, I mean, I almost feel like a voyeur sometimes. They hit the right notes...all the time.

OMG yes! Do feel like voyeur! Its like they're having a private conversation and you're just rewinding the scene to listen to how they said what they said... coz we just love listening to the perfect pitching they got!

@ Weepy. Oh yess..I know eh?? I rewind all the time. And it is their voices which makes their scenes that much better.

I mean compare Geet to other shows. Sometimes their tones are so contrived and forced. There is no flow when leads talk to one another.

They say each other's name in such a humdrum formulaic way, even in the most intense scenes--its kinda like...umm kk. lol

But with Geet and Maan-their voices have chemistry all on its own. Their is a special way Maan says "Geet" and a special way Geet says "Maan".


ahhh!...seriously...the two of us will go crazy one day. "2 made mad from sensory overload due to sexy voices" lol what a headline

@Charishma - oh god absolutely. its their voices that makes any scene THAT much fantastic!

Dare I compare Geet to any other shows - coz there isn't any show like Geet. But for conversation's sake, if we do, then no one has that natural flow like these two got. These 2 know when to start, when to stop, when to interrupt. but in other shows its looks out of place, or like there's something missing!

goodness your comment reminded me of a scene when i think this was in the amritsar track, maan walks into the kitchen calling geet and the way geet acknolwedges maan by calling his name and then slapping his hands away... seriously its one of the most natural scenes i have scene ANYWHERE... and i could just rewind it a thousand times and watch it and not get bored!

good god! lol... what a headline indeedee! we are gonna go crazy! i need to get me some life!
