Actings my first love Says small screen star Manish Wadhwa in a conversation with AT Shruti Jambhekar Tall and strapping actor Manish Wadhwas passion for acting is evident when you see his cleanly shaved head.He went bald to essay the role of Chanakya in the costume caper Chandragupta Maurya.He says,Im sure there arent too many people in this industry who would go to such lengths to do this important role.Chanakya was a cult in earlier days and Im honoured to be playing such an important character. Manish started his career with theatre in Mumbai followed by a comedy show Khatta Meetha.I have been doing theatre since college.Although,theatre is close to my heart,I would rather say acting is my first love the medium theatre,television and films does not really matter, he says. Manishs played a variety of characters on telly shows.Variety within characters is what attracts me the most, shares Manish whod done important roles in Kohinoor,Mitwa Phool Kamal Ke,Rajkumar Aryan and also has a major role in Ram Gopal Varmas film Shabri. This actor,who hails from Ambala is fond of,singing ghazals as well as romantic songs.I love to travel with my wife and kids whenever I have some leisure time. Talking about Gujarat,he says,I have come to Ahmedabad with Jaya Bachchanji for the play Ma Retire Hoti Hain,adapted from the Gujarati play Baa Retire Thaay Chhe.I love Ahmedabad for its peaceful pace and lovely roads.I can understand Gujarati well.I have many friends in TV industry who are Gujarati and they keep treating me with Gujarati delicacies as well, he says.
