Sony's men againts CRIME-indya.com

Sony has three popular shows dealing with crime - CID, Adaalat and Crime Patrol, featuring popular actors Shivaji Satam, Ronit Roy and Anoop Soni respectively.

All these shows will have a common theme this week- Crimes of passion. The actors Shivaji Satam, Ronit Roy and Anoop Soni travelled to Lucknow recently to promote their shows at an event named- Men against crime.

An Indya source reveals, "In the special episode of Adaalat, a girl takes the blame for a murder and pleads guilty to save her boyfriend who is the actual culprit. On the other hand, the boyfriend threatens KD to acquit his girlfriend else he will place bombs in the city. With time ticking away, KD has to find a way out to prove the girl innocent and stop the bomber. In CID, in a fit of rage an obsessive lover kidnaps a girl. He wants to keep the girl for himself forever, so he chains her. Crime Patrol brings alive, a heart rending and real incident of crime of passion. An aspiring actress, an opportunist boyfriend and a jealous lover leading to crime of passion – an actress with the help of her fianc brutally kills her boyfriend who fails to land her a role in a TV show after promising her, cuts the body into three hundred pieces before dumping it."

Shivaji Satam when contacted says, "Normally, a person will associate crimes of passion with love and romance but actually it could be anything that one is passionate about. Crime takes place when passion turns into an obsession for maybe your lover or from someone's property. The Lucknow event was a wonderful experience as the media was not just asking general questions but about particular episodes, which proves the popularity of these three shows. This was the first time that I visited Lucknow and I had some amazing food there. I just loved the Gulab Jamun's and Tunde kebab's available there."

Anoop Soni adds, "Adaalat deals with a certain kind of crime and tries to show that a person is not a criminal till there is some proof against him. CID shows viewers about how crime is investigated and as for my show Crime Patrol we feature incidents from day to day life and how a person becomes a criminal due to circumstances. We are trying to explain to the audience that crime is not the solution to ones problems and that it should be eradicated. The event at Lucknow was fantastic especially since everyone present there were so informed about the three shows. I have worked with Shivaji before and even though he is elder to me we are good friends. I haven't worked with Ronit but it is fun being with him. In fact, the three of us are planning to travel to many more cities to promote our shows."
