The previous day's episode, there was not much in terms of a great performance or screen presence for Kesar. I still loved Kesar's enthusiastic involvement in Talli's engagement. I loved the scene where he played the Dhol with so much passion and energy. I was remided of the earlier scene, can I say FLASHBACK of earlier episode where Gulaal's friends will want a similar guy like Vasant to be the husband. Someone suggests Dushyant but the girls ask him if he sing, play the Dhol, etc,etc. When Dushyant replies saying he can't the girls make fun of him. That time the Chotu Kesuda had told the girls that in that case he stands a better chance to get married because he knows to do all these. Of course everyone laughed dismissing it as a child's comment.
Today's episode: 27/7/11
Kesar walks in to the room, probably tired after the day's busy schedule. He sees Gulaal making the bed on the floor. Kesar had forgotten about the sleeping in the same room issue until Gulaal reminded. It goes to explain that Gulaal has been contemplating about the sleeping over issue even when she was busy with Talli's engagement schedule whereas Kesar has actually forgotten. Gulaal has not got over the issue at all. I am sure she may be reminded of Kesar in the room along with her even if she would slip into a coma right then.
As usual and that too in his own sweet way, he volunteers to do it saving her that small work. When she mentions she is making HER bed on the floor, very authoritatively he says "Soch le Gulaal, if you argue, I would go out to the terrace". Obviously he isn't scared of getting caught, he would be happy if Sarufui learns about the truth. Only Gulaal wants to keep the secret, so obviously it left her with no choice but to allow him to sleep on the floor.
After leaving her with no choice, he still wants to make her feel comfortable about "Kesar on the floor" decision, that he eases her tension by joking that he would have a peaceful dream only after his head hits the floor leaving the pillow and wakes up a few times. I was wondering if he was mentioning about being awakened by random people in the middle of the night.
Settling in their respective positions, Kesar is comfortable, Gulaal is not. He directly glances at her whereas I would say Gulaal stole a quick glance at him and opted to look away from him. Was she scared about her own heart if she took a longer look at him? He knows her too well which makes him ask her if she is going to spend her night sitting. She denies and uncomfortably rests on the bed.
I love the sound of the strong breeze in the background. This was used when Kesar calls out to Gulaal sitting under the tree and Gulaal wakes up from her sleep when she had left Kesar and gone to her parents's house. Without looking at her, he can sense her discomfort. An idea strikes him. I love that mischievous expression there as he hits upon the idea. He decides to play LUDO. My prediction slightly went wrong. I had written it as Snakes and Ladder yesterday. Kesar does mention to her " Aise toh hum sone se rahe". It was being vocal about sensing her discomfort.
Kesar knows Gulaal inside out. He challenges her saying he will sleep peacefully after he sees her lose. Our GALOOL falls in the trap. She takes up the challenge. Gulaal enthusiastic. Kesar happy. It would not matter to him if he lost the game to her; he has already won by involving her in the game and making her come out of that discomfort. His enthusiasm is evident in the way he pushes the blanket with his legs and makes place for both of them. He is prompt in choosing the coin color for himself with " Mein Laal"
They discuss the engagement ceremony. As usual Gulaal is worried about Talli. Kesar says he notices Talli's love for Kunal in her eyes. Now that was a bit exaggerating. But he made perfet sense when he carefully answered her question by saying she would forget her past when her life is filled with happiness that Kunal would bring in her life. Basically it applies to Gulaal. But I felt Kesar was actually hoping for signs to see Talli happy because he knows very well that he has hurt her but he wishes nothing but the best for his dear friend. It was like convincing himself that indeed after all the tears Talli was and will be happy.
Just watch Gulaal's momentary excitement when the game is in her favor. They could play the game forgetting that they were two grown-up adults. . Kesar decided to spend the night by deciding to be like childhood friends because he realized what was bothering Gulaal. After that Gulaal was in tune with him, fighting for her chance to play, asking him not to cheat and hitting him too. Poor Kesar is requesting her" Maar mat, maar mat tu". I got flashbacks of the slap sessions.
Well that was all about Kesar and Gulaal today. Interesting precap. Let us wait and watch.
