Part -130

The outside shade was getting darker earlier than expected. Dev drove carefully through the narrow road. The storm can hit the ground at any minute. He remembered Suchi's concern, but something was pushing him to go, that he was unable to rest back. He wanted to hold his angel in his arms, and its been days seeing her. He knew he is not able to concentrate completely at work, he was calling the varma house very often and haweli, he doesn't know why, but his mind wanted to confirm that they all are fine. In case he did not get dadaji to talk, he made sure to call later that night to hear his voice. He knew it is all new to him, but he did that even when he was with radhika and his angel. He was able to go and rest in peace back at haweli. He doesn't know why he did that, but he made sure he is available at both houses any time.

Right then a sudden thunder hit the road followed by the lightening. As a reflex Dev hit hard on that break pedal and the tires made its squeecky noise and the vehicle came to a halt. Dev rested his head over the steerring and panted hard. Finally he took a deep breath in and then exhaled it out slowly. He lifted his head up and tried to restart the engine.

The beam of light just pierced the darkness outside, and Dev closed his eye lids once to get the scene clear. He was ready to press down that accelerator, his eyes got stuck at the front road. The lines appered within seconds , doubting the front road. He turned the high beam and tried to look through the dropping rain drops, another lightening hit the road . He could see a tree which just block the forward move of his car. He frightened for a second, if he would have not applied that break earlier, then. He stopped thinking right away.

Turning the car off, he came out. He walked near to the tree, ignoring the wetnes, he just wanted to make sure that he can move forward soon. As he neared he saw that huge tree with branches blocking his way completely.

He stood there, wiping his face off from the dripping water, he stood there keeping his hands over the flanks. "now what to do?, who can help me, when will I be able to go? Radhika maybe waiting, Mom may be calling. What do I do?" .

He stood there for few minutes. Suddenly he heard a moaning sound from near by. He got alert and he looked around. He found another car which might have come from the other side of the road, and a tree branch was laying over it.

He took those high jump move and went near the car He saw one lady and a kid, inside, still breathing . he saw the blood oozing from the lady's forehead. He moved quick, he was able to get both of them out.

"let me take you to the hospital"

Lady: no we are fine

Dev: I don't think so. My car is parked over the next side, I can take you to the nearby clinic

He did not listen to the travellor much, he looked at the kid and carried her quick in his arms and the lady just followed this gentleman.

Dev slowly reversed the car and then took that turn and drove to the near by clinic. They were able to get there in 40 minutes. He made sure they are fine and the lady used his cell phone to contact her family. Making sure they are fine, he was about to move

Lady: thank you

Dev just tried to give a smile back

He was about to walk away

"this is for your kid"

He turned back and found the lady holding somehitng in her hand

Dev: no, I am fine, I don't need anything

Lady: this is not for you, for your kid

Dev: how do you know I have a kid

Lady just smiled

Dev: you didn't tell me

She again smiled and said; you rescued my child, and I am sure you took us all this way to make sure my kid is ok, and I can manage the rest, right.

Dev: ha but

Lady: I said, this is for your kid, a small gift from my girl, for helping us tonight.

Dev had no other choice than taking it from that lady

Looking at it he said: but this a book

Lady: ha, and I am sure your kid also will like it

Dev:but mine is too small to read

Lady: and she will grow one day and pick this book and read to you, that time remember us

Dev just smiled and walked away.

He went to the receptionalist and asked them for a different route.

Somehow he reached home very late. He reasoned himself by saying that he was waiting for the strom to get settled. He got the scolding from Suchi on phone, but he managed to get into his room with Radhika .

He looked at the sleeping baby."ye your papa is here" he tried to touch the baby

Radhika: first go and take a shower, see you are all wet.

Dev: ok baba. He pulled on her cheek

Radhika: uff that hurts

Dev: so only I pulled

Radhika: you never change

Dev: why should I?

Radhika catched the shirt that he was throwing at her while getting into the washroom.

Radhika looking at his disappearing figure, held that shirt, she was about to put it on the rack, she noticed the blood stain.

Radhika went and knocked at the washroom door

Dev: the door is open come in

Radhika opened the door quicka dn went near

Dev: why, can't you wait for little bit, you only told me to take a showerland then what happened?

Radhika: did you get hurt?

Dev turned the shower off: what!

Radhika: tell me, what happned, I can see the blood in your dress

Dev: oh that, Thank God, nobody else noticed it. Even I did not notie it, then

Radhika: tell me what happened, please, are you ok

Dev peeking out from the shower: give me another 2 minutes, I will be right out ok,

Radhika: let me see, are you ok

Dev: Radhika I am fine, ok.

Radhika: I

Dev: just 2 minutes, I will be out.

She stood there impatiently looking at the blood stain.

Dev came out with wrapping the towel around: what is this Radhika, can't you trust me, I told you I am fine, then

Radhika went near, : no you are not, see this

Dev took the shirt and throwed that away, and then wrapped his arms around her waist line, and shook his head and the water drops just splashed over her face, that she moved her face sideways

Radhika: don't be childish, tell me

Dev: ok you don't trust me right, fine, check me out, if you can find and scratch, then tell me.

Radhika tried to chesk his skin : turn around let me see

She checked his skin and felt some relief

Dev: see I told you

Radhika: but then how!

Dev: that is why I asked you to give me two minutes. Dev explained everything to her. Radhika just listened to him carefully with parted lips.

Dev: now , got your answer

Radhika did not say anything

Dev shook her softly: Radhika

Coming out from the shock, She just wrapped her arms around him and held him tight in her embrace,and Dev could feel her tears wetting his skin

Dev: Radhika what is this, I said I am fine

Radhika: don't ever do like this, I am ok to stay away from you for a night, but I don't want you to go through all this ok, I can come with you to Delhi, we don't' need to wait till namakaran, now I can't let you go alone

Dev with a smile: see I told to make you feel comfortable, but it seems like you got scared now, Radhika, I am fine

Radhika: I don't want to hear anything, she tighten her hold

Dev: Radhika, when your love is with me, how can something

Radhika suddenly zipped his lips with her finger: not any more

Dev just looked into her eyes and then took her fingers away and said: ok baba, I won't

Dev wrapped his arms around her and said: but I really missed both of you Radhika

Radhika: I know , we too, but

Dev: um, no more ok

Radhika: um

Dev: and no need to tell anyone either

Radhika; ji

Dev: tell me how is our angel

Radhika: she is fine, sleeping better, and now smiling wide

Dev changing to his dry cloths: really, did you take the snaps

Radhika: ha, for her papa

Dev: good girl

He went near the bassinet: hai my princess, still sleeping , papa is here, see what papa brought for you?

Radhika: what did you bring? I didn't see anything

Dev: heina

Radhika: what

Dev: In my laptop bag

Radhika: let me see

She went near and checked inside the bag and found a doll inside, and she was about to turn she noticed a book.

She took it out and asked: what is this?

Dev came near and asked: what?

Radhika held the book high

Dev;:oh that, that lady gave me , thanking me, before Radhika could read the title he took it from her hand and tried to read the title: World's best fairy tales.

Dev with a smile: Iam sure you will like this

Radhika taking the doll near the angel: who me

Dev coming near: ha, see , it is fairy tales

Radhika: let me see

She looked at it and without any interest gave it back

Dev: what happened , don't like it

Radhika: its all fantasy stories , there is no life in it

Dev: what

Radhika: nothing

Dev turning the pages: but I am sure angel will like this one day, see there is pictures too

Radhika without any interest in that placed the doll near the basinet: now when she wakes up she will see this

Dev was more into the book

Radhika noticed that, she snatched the book and went to keep that on the table

Dev;:Radhika, I was checking it

Radhika: I know, it is for kids right, then why you need to check it out

Dev: Radhika

Radhika: what?

Suddenly Chudki moved her hands up in the air and rested above her head, and soon she lifted the other arm too, and she slept very calm

Dev: Radhika look at her pose

Radhika: this is nothing, wait and see, now she will be smiling soon, and then tighten her forehead as if she is dreaming something serious and then smile again ,then slowly open her eyes.

Dev sat there enthusiastically: really!

Radhika came near: um

Dev: seewhat all I missed in these few days

Radhika coming near sat next to him,

Rohini came in: beta, you didn't eat anything right, come, have something.

Dev: ji mom , Radhika call me if she wakes up ok

Rohini: don't worry now she is only managing every thing, she should learn na.

Dev smiled

Rohini: and I am also not interfering much , or it will be difficult when she goes from here

Dev felt the wetness of her throat.

Time ticked by. When Dev came back, he found Radhika feeding the baby.

Dev: she woke up ! and you didn't call me

Radhika: now she won't sleep for another half an hour, ok. Now it is her play time

Dev watched as she started trying to burp her baby

Dev: Radhika, now you become an expert

Radhika: not an expert , but learning little bit of everything

Dev smiled proudly

She put her down on the bed,: here, now you can talk and chat and play and do whatever you want, she will be fine

Dev smilingly went near his baby, he sat next to her and called: hai Princess, I am back

Baby just smiled at him and that oglu sound of hearing him came out

Dev: oh, so you know it, ok then tell me what happened these days

Suddenly the little one lifted her hand up and tried to wipe her face

Dev: what, are you trying to say something

Baby kept on smiling and was moving her legs and her arms,and was making noises from her throat , as if responding to her dad's baby talk. He brought the doll and gave it in her hand. She held it tight in her hand

Dev: Radhika she likes it

Radhika was braiding her hair: I know she loves everyhting, give your finger, you can see what she does

He put his finger in her hand, and she closed her little fingers around his and tightened it in her hold and slowly she moved that up, and dev's eyes watched her with exclamtion, and it stopped right near her mouth, and he saw her lips parting up and showing that pink gums out, she tried to put his finger in,

"arre arre what are you going to do, are you going to bite me, are you?"

Radhika was listenig to his happy husky voice, and she stood there smiling for sometime and then got lost in her thought.

Time ticked by and later his princess slept in his arms. He kept his eyes over her sleeping face "I really missed a lot dear"

Radhika came near and sat next to him. He wrapped his other arm around her and brought her closer: tell me where did you get lost in between

Radhika: no, I

Dev: don't try to make up anything Radhika, I was noticing it, and I want to know, so tell me what is bothering you, I need to know, why you are hesitating to tell me about it

He waited for an answer, he saw her wetting eyes and she tried to hold angel back to cover herself up

Dev: no let her sleep in my arms, you tell me

Radhika: noth

Dev: told you

Radhika: vo

Dev: vo what?

One update from you is always a treat--and two at this time is even better---
It is really wonderful to come home and read the updates---

Loved Dev's interaction with the little princess--I can almost picture the baby sleeping with the arms up and smiling in her sleep----Dev is becoming quite apt at taking care of his baby-----

So the :fairy tale" is back again for the little one to dream of her prince---

And the best part is the mystery that is building--Will Radhika tell Dev?...

really well did i liked each and every line of description of baby its really cute but why radhika lost her interest in fairytales she used to love it a lot na
