radha.. the incident that you shared with me here, i felt that moment when you told me, and i am sure there are two or more other readers who also still holding onto your words.. and tell you this FF has a mix of all, there is little bit of radha, rahdika, lexmi, radev, everything written inside a diary of my mind, and i visualize it and smile at that moment and then it is difficult to get that shade to fade.. so you may see ur words repeating, or maybe the readers will identify it, I gave my language to it, i tried to color that into radev world..

and yes, it was a false alrm which gave space for Dev to move on and get comfortable being around her, near her, and for radhika to hear and share the stories of her near ones.

Part 125

Radhika was sitting inside the car, in the middle of two mothers. Sitting at the travellor's side Dev's eyes were fixed on to that front road, and was occationally tunrnig back to look at his wife. The white light beam just moved forward piercing the darkness ahead trying to give him the vision of that long road. The tight fist near his lips hit his lips many times, he was trying to gather all that energy inside that fist to relieve his tension. The silence helped him to listen to her tiniest movements in the back seat and he could easily feel when she grin with pain. He knew it, he expected this, somehow if they can reach the hospital early, then she can get some medicine to get the relief. Unknowingly his eyes glanced at the moving needles inside that big black round dial. He thought he could even hear that tick tick sound that is trying to tell him loud that time is passing and they are nearing.

Mohan and Surender followed them behind, till the hospital. The doctor on call examined her and it was progressing fine. They recommended her to walk around the building for few more minutes to make it faster as she was tolerating that pain well very naturally.

Rohini: Rahdika, the best thing is to climb the stairs, try it

Suddenly Dev: Maaji she is in pain

Suchi with a smile: ha, that should come little more frequently, so you need to listen to what Rohini just said.

Dev: mom, she is in pain, can you think of giving her something to get the relief

Suchi: Dev, let her feel little pain, now she is able to walk around , right, .. this is nothing, let's see how much she will be able to take it.

Dev: What? is it some kind of exam or not?

Radhika: no I am fine, come let's take the steps.

Suchi: listen to her, it sounds like you are the one pulling her back, she is willing to do it.

Dev looking at Radhika: Radhika, if the pain is so bad, you just tell them, no need to suffer it, ok.

Suchi: Dev , didn't you listen to her.

Dev in an irritated voice : ok, its your wish, come then

Saying that he took the steps fatser, and then paused in the middle and tunred and looked at Radhika who is still standing on the floor

By then Radhika climbed the first step

Dev looked down at the mothers and the mothers turned their face away

Suchi: Rohini, anyway Radhika is lucky, she has her husband holding her hand, lets look for our hubbies, I know they were behind us, and where they got disappered now.

Dev watched as the mothers walked away, and by then Radhika climbed the half of the steps.

Dev coming near: Radhika I am serious, if you are feeling tired, you take rest, i can tell them.

Radhika looked at her husband's face, and then held his hand and made him to touch her tummy: here, she is ready to come out, to see you, then how can I hold her back, maybe it will be soon. I can't wait anymore to see her in your arms.

Dev looked into her lovely face, her sparkling eyes, and he could feel her happiness to see their angel resting in his palm, even that passing minute of pain. For a minute the silence engulfed him.

Radhika with a smile: let's go

Without saying anything he took those steps to upstairs, walked closer to her, and stopped along with her, when she experienced those stomach tightness.

They did the ups and downs few times, slowly taking time, the pain was getting more into her nerves. She could feel it coming from her lower tummy and it just circled around her upper tummy , tightening those muscles, she could feel it radiating to her lower back, and then to her thighs. She pasued, her lips parted, she took those deep breaths, He saw her parting lips tightening back, and she slowly released her posture to feel that relief.

Radhika, looking into his eyes: its so painful

Dev: ok then, this is enough, come let's go back, I don't think you need to suffer this.

Radhika walking back with him: but daadima told me,

Dev: Radhika, no more ok

Radhika just walked behind him, he was in a hurry to get her back into their room.

Suchi and ROhini noticed radhika's grinched face while walking

By the time they reached their privacy, the Dr. was ready with the shot, the shot aiming at her spine and she screamed slightly while Dev helped Radhika to give that nice curve with that posture.

Soon she was hooked back into the bed. The nurse stood by, monitoring the progress. Slowly Rahdika was unable to feel that sharpness of that tightness, and she closed her eyes for few minutes. Time ticked by , a small gush of water wet her thigh lightly and she opened her eyes with an urge to push ..

Suchi gave the signal to the doctor and soon she has been shifted to the labor room. Suchi refused to accompany them as she was more tensed than anyone else in that group. Surrender was talking on the phone to someone, and Sushma, daadi , and Lechu were sitting patiently back in home and waiting near the phone to ring with the good news.

Dev was pacing near that closed door. Mohan was keeping his eyes on this young man, who was pacing and then pausing and looking at that door anxiously, later noticed Dev pausing near that railings, as if he is in a deep thinking, looking into that lgihtly shading horizon.

As if coming back to reality he turned and looked at Mohan's face, by trying to relax his facial muscles.

Mohan with a heavy tone said: I don't know what is going on inside you, because I never felt this tensed, for me everything was so natural, or maybe I never tried to know that pain of my wife. Or feel that pain which is going to bring that joy to my life. But now I am blessed to have you, to see through your eyes , the pain that my daughter is going thru, or may be all those mothers who suffered it. His slightly wet tone continued :I am blessed to have you as my damad as I heard you are wishing for a little angel, that means, you are loving my daughter in all senses, his voice trailed off as he continued you are loving your mother, your sister.

Dev just listened as his partial mind went along with Radhika, he heard half with his tension filled mind, or maybe expected joy of his life, along with trying to undertsand what babuji really meant.

Suddenly the door opened in front of them and the nurse brought a soft white bundle , holding safely in her hand and with a smile on her lips.

They all looked at the nurse and moved faster to get near her. Dev's vision got blocked with the family circle. They looked at that sleepy tiny baby, and soon the baby settled in Rohini's hands, and she held her grand kid closer to her heart.

Dev's ears were deaf and he was only seeing the smiling face of his family around. But then two eyes were scanning for him, and then taking the little one in her hand she walked towards him, Dev watched as his mom carried his little one towards him, he felt his legs heavy that he was unable to move, and he felt she is taking so many steps to reach near him, and the distance is getting longer and longer, and within a fraction off second, he went near his mom.

Suchi just looked at his son's face, to see his reaction, the new mother in her awaken one more time, holding her grand kid in her hand, she felt the heaviness of her heart, she felt the suffocation inside her chest, taking a deep sigh in , she halted for him holding his baby closer to her skin.

Dev looked at his mom's face once, and she just nodded her head twice and he understood the meaning of it.

She forwaded the white bundle, but he didn't reach out for it, "no mom, I just want to see her"

Rohini: why, its your baby

Dev: no mom, she is comfortable in your arms, I am fine

Suchi: oh , so you are scared.

Dev: no mom, let her sleep

his eyes were lingering over the sleeping face, the tiny lips, and the soft cheeks and closed eye lids.

Surender keeping the phone back in his pocket: ok, gave the happy news to your choti buva, badi buva, and your choti choti nani, and chota chota daada.Now come to me, ok.

Rohini: choti nani! Chotaa dada!

Surrender taking the baby from Suchi's hand: um, babuji and maaji

Suchi: oh

Surrender: um, chu chu chu rruu ruuur uur

Suchi looked at her husband's reaction and stood there with parted lips, Dev just smiled seeing his dad's happiness.

Surender to baby: from today onwards, I am on vacation, now let your dad take over, I have to play with my little princess.

Suchi: whose little princess?

Surender: mine , any doubt. Then looking at the baby: don't listen to your daadi, she may tell so many stories against me, but never listen to it, ok. Thum tho daada ki jaan ho

Mohan came with sweets, and Rohini asked Dev also to distribute it around .

When they came back, Radhika was already back in room. She lay there with her tired face. Dev was unable to look at her face directly, he kept the rest of the sweet over the table and watched his family talking around, and his eyes glanced at Radhika to see her smile, he felt a relief seeing her painfree smile. He walked near to his little one, and looked at her face.

Mohan: Dev, now we are leaving. Suchi behan will be here, and we will go and freshen up and come , ok. If you need anything let us know.

Dev: no babuji, I am fine.

Mohan: ok then, call us if you remember anything ok

Dev: ji

Dev went along with them till the parking area., and once they left, he came back to his room. He saw Radhika laying with closed eyes, and then his eyes caught the sight of his mom standing near the window, holding his little princess in her hand , closer to her heart, keenly looking at the little ones face.

The sky was blushing hard to welcome the new fresh morning into the world, suchi slowly handed the baby in her son's hand and Dev very carefully held his little one in his big palm. Suchi then with a smile moved the curtain to both sides.
