Sumona is still Shumo for her friends
Akash WadhwaAkash Wadhwa, TNN | Jul 14, 2011, 12.27pm IST

Sumona Chakravarty better known as Natasha Kapoor of Bade Acche Laggte Hai may have shifted base to Mumbai from Lucknow but she still hasn't forgotten her roots.

"No matter where I go, what I become, the City of Nawabs will always remain close to my heart," she says, adding, "I still haven't forgotten my roots. Aaj bhi woh tehzeeb mere mein zinda hai. Even today, when I have to hire a taxi, I call for "Bhaiyaji, yahan chalenge?" and not, "Oye, Tu yahan chalega?" I consciously make sure that I carry forward that nawabi legacy with me everywhere."

So that means, she misses her hometown a lot? "Don't even talk about it as I get emotional on this topic. I still have my childhood friends, who are my best friends, in Lucknow. I am still the "Shumo", as I was fondly called by my friends in Lucknow. I am in touch with all of them and plan to visit them soon," she says.

Thnks for posting. As an actress she portrays the role of this crazy nutsy person to the hilt. What a difference from the person she portrays on screen.

Thanks for sharing.

I didn't think of that but i guess it's hard for every actor (even more if they are young) to live their hometown for big cities and all that jazz.

Agreed, the difference between the actress and Nuts (who is very independent and "modern") is very showing up in this interview!
