I don't think it's about protecting the family, that's just a cover up.
She doesn't want the truth to come out because she can't face the truth! She can't face the fact that her husband is such a dirty man, and most importantly she can't face the fact that he doesn't want her. He wants everyone but her! She just doesn't want to feel shame. It's all about her pride.

l dont agree wit her either but if the truth comes out now then what will happen to the story coz SSP's truth is the main storyline of Maryada. l think thts why the cvs are not revealing it yet but anyways thts just my point of view
