The reigning man of tellyworld..the proverbial angry young man...

Arnav Singh Raizada..

Barun Sobti has created an overnight sensation...He has made Arnav Singh Raizada a phenomenon...so much so you don't know where Barun ends and Arnav begins..

The Look

This look would have made Arnav a softer ,a more flamboyant person , a man comfortable in his own skin...

But Arnav singh is not a comfortable man..He dresses for success, he dresses for an Impression..And he makes long lasting ones..

Larger than Life.

Arnav Singh Raizada is Larger than Life itself..He is introduced in coming out of his own chopper..a cruel contrast to Khushi Kumari Gupta on a scooty..Hats off to 4 lions...at the sublety, at the enormous difference in the social standing of the two protagonists

He comes with all the trappings of wealth...the sprawling mansion where Khushi gets lost

The expensive jeep which Khushi destroys..

The Contrasts between the two is beautifully highlighted...

The only place where the two are are somewhat at the same social level is the mazaar...more so because of social conventions

A La Darcy ..A La Thornton among others..

Arnav Singh is a bit of both..Darcy was born in with a silver spoon..into the local aristocracy, a class which was well endowed with large estates and a repute of old money...Thornton was the working class who worked his way up and became the rich successful businessman but never forgot his working class roots.

Arnav I think from what has been presented soo far was born into a wealthy family a bit Darcy and then possibly faced destitution and poverty..and then harder times made him strive for the wealth he had lost ..so a bit Thornton...However where Darcy's arrogance belied old money,,,Thornton's aloofness was never arrogance but an obvious pride in the way he had made himself the man he was..

Arnav' arrogance is two fold both because of his social class and then the struggle to be the self made business tycoon he is today..

Arnav Singh Raizada ..The Man..

A man of paradoxes...A tolerant brother who would even go to the mazaar for his sister's sake even though

he is a near atheist..A man who is a family man who would tolerate a whim called Laxmi in the house for the sake of his grandmother but then is willing to stand up to her on the question of marriage

A man filled with cold hatred but lives life with a passion. He is a successful businessman who can bend the rules acccording to himself but is a hard taskmaster who expects unflinching perfection.

A man who has only hated so far..a man who is not afraid to show his anger but unable to love or show warmth and affection. The only time I saw a softening was the dialogue with Anjali about his soul mate..

A man who is not a casanova ( no definitely a Rhett butler as I saw in other posts) but is no hermit either. He has a steady girl friend but defies commitment.

Khushi kumari gupta has shaken him out of complacency..What started as a game has turned in earnst.She has done the the impossible...shaken him, touched him,made a mark on him..After today when Khushi was missing the turmoil and worry reflected on his face said it all...the love will take it's time..It started out as an attraction..and the way he hates Khushi is as good as loving her..he is not indifferent..

Why does Khushi invoke such strong emotions in him..

She stands up to him..

She questions him

She challenges him

She is not concerned with his wealth and status

But How long will it take for Arnav Singh Raizada to discover this..why does he think she does not match up to him..taaunts her with haisiat and aukad..He who did not need anyone but could buy everything and everyone with his moneybags now finds himself at a loose end..Maybe Khushi does ring a bell in his past..A rejection perhaps??

However the story has now taken an interesting turn..it has given Arnav the much needed jolt for to do a reality check..To look at Khushi not gloss over her..Now he finds himself fighting himself and reasoning to himself..He has never done that before..

Today he LISTENED!!! It is a matter of time..

Guys..Wake up ..Barun Sobti has finally arrived..

Hi Zainab.

Barun Sobti is becoming more famous for sure and it is totally 100% deserved and I am extremely happy for that. I simply love this man. But for me, he arrived and left me in a pool of drool and a permanent resident on the floor in a swoon since last year May.

It is incredible to me and a testament to his talent that after doing such a fabulous job as Shravan - within 3 months, he has turned around to give us the completely opposite and engaging ASR. He's just awesome...and delicious.

Oh Zainab we all know that Barun Shobti has arrived.
We were all treated to his versatality even earlier, when he showcased all his acting prowess in BHPH.

As Arnav he only confirmed his worth and the faith of all his fans, the PH and the channel has in him.

We are indeed lucky to see him portray a character of contrasting paradox.

wow..amazing post..if i had only read this a bit earlier i would'nt have written almost the exact same thing about Barun's acting as a new post but just responded to this one..
But i agree, today his acting has completely bowled me over. ASR or should i say the Indian Mr. Darcy, I guess it fits but being a huge huge fan of Jane Austen and being totally in love with North and South, I still prefer Mr. Darcy. Somehow Arnav just seems colder and more brutal, don't you think? But i guess the more brutal you show a character the more the transformation affects you..Except I hope we never see a complete transformation. I liked how even in the end of both those brillaint novels, the essence of Mr. Darcy remained though minus the pride and the arrogance taken a knotch down..Same with Thorton..So i hope the transformation of ASR is not too drastic.
Anyhow i hope this makes sense if it does'nt, blame it on the fact that i was talking trying to compare two of my all time favorite characters to someone who has recently made me a crazy fan girl. Sadly Barun is married in real life ;)

Very well written. for me Barun arrived ages back, but as ASR in true form , he has arrived.

I saw many people who said he had wooden expressions etc, write on FB that they cannot imagine any actor but Barun Sobti to play the role of ASR. That his mark and that will take him higher and higher.

actually be4 also i thought tht he had wooden exprs. n i just loved watching khushi cuz his face wud be expresionless...id be like..is he just looking somewhere angry n they took a still of him...but it was all part of his character..silly me..but now i do feel like aarnav is coming alive...as Barun said he had a hard time staying serious..he wud just laugh..lol

but now..i think hes getting the jist of it...i love watching arnav (single arnav bits ) as well as khushi (which i always did..) but i always forwarded single arnav bits..where he wud be by himslef..

now i watch em cuz i think hes improved...even in serious expressionless faces..he reveals a lot with his eyes n stuff..

the first photo of him..he looks realllyyy sweet n ahndsome..hehe

n i loved his character in BHPH...it was a lot more fun!

he's doin an outstandin job as ASR and i dont think i'd have watched dis show if somebody else essayed da role of ASR...

must give a big jappi for barun for his hard work & dedication 🤗

It is so touching to read such posts about Barun sobti .

We fans of Barun Sobti were waiting for this and were confident that he will win everyones heart .

If members who frequented the forum during the early days remember that in one of my posts in reference to the first interview of sarun together I wrote that

"off-screen Barun lets his costars do all the talking but onscreen it is completely different . Just wait and watch ."

Today we fans are so happy that at last Barun Sobti is getting the love , fan-following and recognition that he deserved even during his Shravanistic days .

Shravans role in BHPH was also a very complex role and Barun did it with such elan and ease, Guys who have not watched BHPH just watch it . Then you will really be able to grasp how versatile Barun Sobti. is .

He is a gem , a diamond , the Kohinoor itself
