😕 We heard about so many movies and announcements. Directors proclaimed the script was amazing and something new never seen in Bollywood. But, they just sounded good on PAPER. And the result: either a DISASTER at the box office or a FORGETTABLE movie experience. So many movies have followed this path in the recent and past. From the most recent times, RAAVAN, KITES, VEER, 7 KHOON MAAF, etc. were movies that followed this example. Hopefully, we will not have movies repeat the same fate toward the end of 2011.

Please share your thoughts. MOVIES that sounded good on PAPER, and the RESULT? 😲

I was really interested in 7 Koon Maaf story/script...but not on screen when I watched it. Big fail.

Another one I thought had a good script but failed was Guzaarish.

Chandni Chowk to china! What a crapstatic letdown. It could have been executed much much much better with all that hollywood resources at hand. First off all, should have taken a better actress and a better screen play writer, then replaced the director with someone like Dibaker Bannerjee...someone who can handle situational humor better. Akshay could have stayed but not his slapstick antics.

Kites...I was so excited for the movie. And i didn't hate the movie when i watched it but ugh. It could have been so much better. So very much. It's such a beautiful love story done/showed on screen poorly.

In recent times...Break Ke Baad...was very disappointed by it but it sounded so good on paper! I was looking fwd to it!

Also Delhi 6 and Love Aaj Kal...both could have been so much better! D6 was good until the last 30 mins!

What? I thought this topic was about good idea but bad execution. I think all of Dibaker's films have good ideas and brilliant executions. So why would I talk about them here? 😆
