Sajid-Wajid and Himesh fight over Salman

After making up with Salman Khan, Himesh Reshammiya is trying hard to get the compositional rights of the star's home production Sher Khan.

Initially, Reshammiya was called in to do the music of the film Bodyguard even though Pritam Chakraborty had already composed some of the songs for the film. Since then, the composer has been enthusiastic to work on projects starring Salman and has been sending feelers to the star for letting him score music in Sher Khan. The problem is that the assignment has already been promised to Sajid-Wajid, who have even discussed the songs of Sher Khan with director Sohail Khan.

Unaware of these developments, Wajid admits that there is no real friendship with Himesh, "Himesh has his own space and we have our own. We aren't friends, like we are with the other music directors. May be he has friends outside the music circle in films."

However, Wajid claims that he doesn't mind Himesh's re-entry into Salman's camp. But the sources say otherwise. With Himesh now trying to make his way into Sher Khan, a territorial battle between the two composers is inevitable.

Himesh returns to his first love

After four years, Himesh Reshammiya is making a comeback as a music director and that too with Vipul Shah's sequel to Namastey London. Interestingly, the original was the last film that Reshammiya worked on, in 2007, before his decision to compose music exclusively for the movies he was cast in.

Our source told us, "Himesh was a on a roll as a music director and then as a singer. However, when he decided to compose music only for the films he was in, the entire industry was shocked. Now finally, after almost four years, he is back.

Himesh is all set to return to the silver screen with the romantic comedy Damadamm, this Diwali. After composing music for several films, Himesh decided to turn actor and went on to star in Aap Kaa Surroor, Karzzz, Radio and 'Kajraare'. Undeterred by the failure of his films, Himesh says he will get "back into the race" with his new film that takes inspiration from the comedy kings of yesteryears, "I have been a huge Hrishikesh Mukerjee fan and wanted to do a truly entertaining light hearted comedy made with a lot of honesty and sincerity which somehow my previous films lacked." He praises director Swapna Waghmare with, "I think after Imtiaz Ali, Anurag Basu & Anand Rai, the next director from the television industry who will hit the bulls eye in films will be Swapna Joshi."

Himesh, who attended a 40-day workshop for the film, sees no problem with the fact that his film might clash with Shah Rukh Khan's superhero film, RA.One, at the box-office, "There can't be any comparison as Shah Rukh Khan is the Badshah of Bollywood and 'RA. One' will be surely the best film of the year but since 'Damadamm' is in a sweet comedy zone there is always room to watch a feel good entertainer on Diwali if its content is strong which I'm very sure of this time."

Himesh Reshammiya after the much-publicised remake Karzzz, vanished from the Bollywood calendar completely. The reason for this could well be attributed to a fight over his film Kajraare. However, the singer-turned-actor, undaunted, came back with his production house HR Musik. And this Diwali, he is all set to re-launch himself with Damadamm. A comedy caper that he believes will "get me back into the race."

The problem, here, lies in the release date Diwali. That's exactly the day when SRK's ambitious project RA.One is scheduled to hit the screen. However, Himesh seems to be least bothered about the very fact. "There can be no comparison," says Himesh, adding, "Shah Rukh Khan is the Baadshah of Bollywood and RA.One will surely be the best film this year. Damadamm is a sweet comedy and there is always room for watching a feel good entertainer on Diwali. And I'm sure it will do well."

Our source, however believes that releasing a comedy this Diwali, could be one of the best decisions Himesh has taken so far. "While Damadamm will be releasing opposite RA.One, it can be noted that unlike the last five years (Garam Masala, Golmaal, Golmaal Returns, All The Best and Golmaal 3), his will be the only comedy film releasing this Diwali."

He further informs, "The publicity of the film will start in July and continue for three months. The film was earlier made by a corporate house but Himesh has now taken over the film and is planning a grand release for it."

Speaking about the film, Himesh says, "I've been huge Hrishikesh Mukerjee fan and wanted to do a truly entertaining light hearted comedy. After Aap Kaa Suroor, the fate of my other films were not as encouraging but Damadamm is a very well written comedy and I'm sure director Swapna Waghmare Joshi will surprise everyone with this film. In one word if I have to describe Damadamm then I will say that the performances the music and the script reflect sincerity. I think for a feel good entertainer, Diwali is probably the best time for release I could have asked for. The music of Damadamm will be released by my company HR Musik and you will find a completely different Himesh in every song."
