Hello everyone!
If the title raised a brow, I was hoping it would š But to explain myself, here's the F-take on the episode today:
Fellow Angels - Ranbir and Mohan were the stars of the day for me today. Yes, I have admitted to my bias for these two publicly before, but today they got their due in terms of screen space, and character justification, like never so far. While we had seen a glimmer of 'good stuff' in the majorly let down Monday episode in the form of a short scene between Ranbir and Mohan, today was an extension to both. Starting with Ranbir - when he tells Ritz she has no idea what Anant's family is like, how he a childhood friend was not allowed to meet his mate, how can Navya stand a chance, Ritz gives him a plain and powerful (and never failing if I may so add) please kuch karo Ranbir... As if lo! To bring on the miracle boy mode! Then there is Mohan - who has all along been trying to work a miracle in the life of his younger brother, by urging him to stand up for himself and not end up with a sad fate like his own. Despite his eternal helplessness at the hands of the looney house, Mohan has been a consistent spark, in his quiet assuring way, who takes this, and this, and this, and that - and can still see things in objective perspective. Yes, he truly is the other miracle boy of this show. And today, during the phone call between Ranbir and Mohan what was glaringly evident was the desperation on both ends to fix things in the life of the their common link - Anant - while knowing how impossible the chance is. Even at the cost of repetition, I say again, Mohan and Ranbir stole the show, and made a generally not superbly paced episode much respite to watch - even hopeful delight, if I dare confess š³
Fallen Schemes - Yeh, this targets our very dear (not) shitsters. As has been trend for the last few episodes, they did get more than their deserved share of screen space - but the good part was to watch a scheme backfire on the duo finally! Yes, it was the ideal moment of praising the lord, lol! Rama, in her ever so sharp conniving ways is trying to ascertain her folks (including dumb-ster Shagun) are not shown the door and way back to Banaras owing the interrupted plans for roka. She pretend converses with her mother and Shagun in the kitchen at a volume loud enough to attract eavesdropping in order to pull an ace and get official yes from her father in law to make her parents stay ... Thankful is the turn of events where Daddy (not so) Cool expresses regret but confirms to her that her folks will have to leave and that he will make their travel plans, as well as talk to CSB (who btw to the delight and relief of countless many was absconding in today's episode... did I say I wasn't dying watching Navya today? You know why! š )
Fat Chance - So yesterday's precap had been quite daring, what with Navya professing she wants to go see Anant, when his looney house had taken an upscale on their looney-quotient. Slim chance, she was told - and we all wondered how it would ever be possible. The doubt as echoed by Ritz and Appy, and even Ranbir - but in the end, when even Ranbir's call to Mohan asking for permission fails, in a most pleasing twist, Navya herself makes the cal to Mohan. Pure bliss! (More on this call in the next and final point). But basically, although nothing gets confirmed (yet it is we know seeing the preca for today, as well as the big promo for the week) the slim chance easily transforms to a fat one!
Future Bonds - Finally, my favorite point to raise from today's episode! Navya's call using Ranbir's phone to Mohan. (to answer which btw, Mohan had to trick Rama and get out of her reach - it was a scene, lol, and I can't say enough of liking Mohan - he's my rockstar š ) Anyway, Navya calls, and when she says she is Anant's friend Navya, the play of expressions on Mohan's face is superb! š 10/10 to the actor protraying this character he does it flawlessly, so much that for the first time in days I actually feel Navya's side - no kidding, he makes rotlu Navya stuck with perpetual misery look good! The way she apologizes to him for being a bother, the way her voice cracks, and she catches her breath to say her part - everything which is so cliche of Navya in general, becomes remarkable in this scene when coupled with Mohan's quiet change of expressions and few words on the other end! For anyone who is in double mind, I strongly recommend watching this scene, just for the heck. Don't expect the show to escalate in story or storyline but just watch the scene, because it's actually solace to the usually tormented us! And as a final touch, what Ranbir cannot accomplish with his call to Mohan, happens now. It's quite a treat to watch the way Mohan comes to many realizations - which are not spoken or thought but to be interpreted IMO - of how he understands even more about Anant's dilemma and how probably empathizes and sympathizes more than ever with his brother who could have a girl like Navya, but is getting tied down with Shagun - as if to speak the best of it that he can, he tells her how lucky Anant is to have friends like them who worry so much... and from Navya's expression coupled in this scene you can see how beautifully this bond will grow if allowed to! While with Nimi, Navya will always be the elder, between Mohan and Navya, I can see some great potential of a secure bonding which will always be a pillar for AnYa! If you haven't guessed, I really liked this scene!
And phew - that's me for today. Maybe I should request Harika to shift me for WU's to Tuesdays, given the record from past couple times š If you've watched the show thus far, watch it today - it was one of the better episodes, provided you're not going to hope for the world in general! More space to some fruitful side characters, and well enacted scene - Bingo! Even a sinking ship can sustain for a while š
