Why do we watch 'reality' shows?

The reason I made this topic is because...when the news of this show spread, I was completely aghast at the fact that someone could go on national TV for two minutes of fame and tons of money (of course!) to get married. In fact, I had commented that such an act accounts to blasphemy.

But when I sneaked up( note the word "sneak"😆) on a couple of episodes, I was perturbed that such shows do have a pull. Even a baby would spot the fake expressions and the real intentions of Ratan and her so-called "dulhas". In spite of perceiving the obvious, one feels a perverse attraction to such shows.

So, I ask you, why do you watch "Ratan ka Rishta", or other reality shows for that matter?I am totally confounded by the fact that, as self-respecting people, we watch such a brain-dead show. What explains this attraction? Please do share your opinion!

i dont watch any reality show regularly.. jst sneak in sometimes for a minute or 2.. yet u r rite they do have a pull factor.. and the reasons mite b different..

some mite b jst addicted to TV.. and watch watever comes..

some mite b interested in Ratan.. or her attire..

some in the dulhas.. or to criticize for the quailities tht they dont have and they have😆

or someone like me.. who likes to do a psychoanalysis !!! of type of characters tht come on this show...🤣 tho i m no regular.. i jst c it for time pass while surfing thru channels..😳 to watch something interesting... ironically!!😆

Because when we have time to kill..nothing is as entertaining as watching these people make fun of themselves😛 since there is nothing else to watch outher than monotonous dramas on Tv maybe thats why these shows gather so much TRPs

I don't know. I really don't know. And I feel like such a hypocrite when I do watch them. I would never have a Swayamwar, and I don't understand what (other than the money, of course) makes people want to have a Swayamwar. But I still manage to find myself watching these shows.

I think part of the attraction might be that I'm just so shocked at the kind of drama that these 'reality-show-scriptwriters' manage to come up with, that I want to see how far the scriptwriters can go. And once you've seen the start of one drama, you want to see the end of it...and by then, the next dramebaazi has started. And so it goes on.

Yeah, I know, I'm a complete hypocrite. 😆

We love real life drama! The best parts are the fighting or dramatic parts :P

i think we hypocrites r giving thm those trps.. 😆.. v love to hate thm.. par hate karne ke liye dekhna to padega na... 😆😆... and wats more.. we even analyse thm (aah.. v put in so much of our time.. 😆😆) and even come here and put up a post ... 🤣.. very ironic... v r such a hypocrites..🤣.. now i know y ppl criticize critics..🤣🤣🤣...

haha soo true..we r d 1 responsible 4 a show being famous..i was talkin 2 chitra di that we should get sum share in 4 crore..we r nt onli watching d FATICHAR show bt also discussing it..we r all putting a lot of hard wrk into this😆...

Me too! I feel so bad when I watch them but I can't tear my eyes away from them:)
