SS was at his potent best during the closing scene it's back to square one for his wife then wonders why she gets thrashed :)
It's really a vicious circle in the Takur family. Takurain wants SS to love her like Krishna does Prats. SS thinks she is not deserving...give her a few inches she'll take several yards more, she has to be kept under control. She can't take it out on her husband for he'll trash her in seconds. She can't take it out on Krishna for two reasons...he is her son and even if she tried to hurt him SS will sooner incapacitate her than see his ladla beta hurt. So she takes her rage out on Prats for ever coming into Krishna's life. She hates that her son could love a girl so wholeheartedly and passionately, something that's nothing more than a figment of her imagination and will forever remain a pipe dream.
This time she's gone too far and put Baba through the wringer with a pail of lies. Krishna won't take it lightly that his Babu was targeted intentionally this way. He probably won't leave the Niwas yet. Krishna will leave the Niwas only when he and SS have a falling out, that may be a diff. track for another time.
