Mansi Salvi is Sahara One's Sati

Sahara One is going all out to adapt its naya rang - of women empowerment.

Mansi Salvi in the promo

The latest to join the the channel's bevy of beauties is Mansi Salvi who will play the lead in Sati. The show will air Monday-Friday at 8:00 pm from 29 May.

"It's a very unique show and I am very excited about being part of it. The promo looks great and the story too is very interesting," says a visibly excited Mansi.

Sources tell us that the show is about a girl called Sati who works in a bar. When she is raped and her dignity ravaged, the girl decides to fight back. Sati struggles to be a lawyer and then she opens a firm of her own called Sati and sisters where all her colleagues are women.

Mansi Salvi: the latest addition to
the Sahara parivaar

The promo of the show currently on air looks great and the actor herself is looking very pretty. "I was fat! I have lost a lot of weight and I hope the promos are looking nice," says Mansi who plays Manasvi in Star Plus' Saarthi.

Shot entirely in black, with the courthouse in the background, the promo is one of its kind. The story however has an uncanny resemblance to the Jessica Lal case that has raised quite a storm.

Sahara One has been churning out a deluge of women centric shows that have carved a niche for themselves, without being tagged under the 'saas-bahu' banner. Woh Rehne Wali Mehlon Ki, Hade Kaanch Ki Choodiyan and the latest, Suno...Har Dil Kuch Kehta Hai have all been targetted to create a buzz around the ew free spirited independent woman. Sati is sure to make heads turn!
