I would love to cast PC: Lara Dutta

She has always been a part of big banner films, but when she turned producer she preferred a small budget film to launch her production house. We are talking about Lara Dutta Bhupathi. With her debut film as a producer getting a favourable response at the box office, Lara has many plans on her mind — including casting supposed rival, actor Priyanka Chopra in her films.

Ask her about being a producer and she says, "I have no reason to complain. I am just so thrilled that my film has done well. The most important thing is that audiences have liked it, and that's more important to me. I am also happy that a good film will always sustain even if it is a small budget film." So is hubby, tennis player Mahesh Bhupati, like his tennis partner Leander Paes, on his way to debut in one of her films? "No, not all. He is happy playing and doesn't have any such plans. He is supportive of my work but doesn't wish to act for sure!" she exclaims.

Her unusual pairing with actor Vinay Pathak clicked, so who is the next one to do her film? "Firstly, I won't be a part of every project of mine as an actor, as it is very exhausting. If I think I fit aptly in a role I will do it or like any producer I will cast the best suitable actor for that character."

So who does she want to work with? "I have worked with all the Khans and Bachchans, I have not worked with Duggu (Hrithik Roshan). I would love to work with him. Among the heroines, I would love to work with Priyanka," she says, rubbishing rumours of any animosity between the ladies.

Quiz her about her next venture being a big budget one, and Lara says, "I don't think so. I do not want to get into big projects. As I need to know more than enough to manage larger options, so it can wait for now."
