I don't get the point of Jai's family.

A domineering mother who runs the entire household, and dutiful daughter-in-laws who follow her every command
And men who are present only in tense situations, or when needed

And Sarika will be trapped in that house and will be abused verbally by people in that house
And she will be called the 'bad' or the 'rebellious' bahu because she has the dream of becoming a doctor and changing the world, rather than hiding in her house under her ghoonghat.

I bet eventually Sarika won't even be able to graduate because a full on faily drama will start with saas bahu nonsense

Great to see you again. I had noted the same thing here

Message of the show?

Truth is - Sarika wants to become a doc, and her parents support her, but due to her dadi's obduracy, she'll have to marry, will end up in this house and expected to fulfill the duties of a bahu. Then they'll show her reading while stirring the dal, and try and portray that something a girl who's interested in her future should do. Same old same old - like all the other serials, you have a headstrong dadi who the parents are too scared to say no to.

I too bet that just like CVs very often forget the theme of the show they are doing, they'll do so here as well, and make Sarika forget her desire to be a doc after enough pressure is applied on her either from her future MIL, or her great dadi.

I don't have a daughter, but if I did, and my parents tried any stunts like that, I'd read them the riot act.

They should have a show where people are supportive of the girls education

I cant stand Sarika's dadi. Who cares if you can properly set up a pooja ki thaali?
But the fact that your granddaughter wants to do something with her life is such a huge issue

As for Jai's family, the people really annoy me. All the bahu's are so nice and complient, like damn robots

It's nauseating

If you recall, they seemed to do it for a bit in Jyoti w/ Sushma, who was making pretty good decisions about her life - studying, planning to adopt out her baby, until they screwed up that track by getting Kabir & Jyoti to blackmail her into going back to Brij.

Even aside from the girl's education issue, I would like it if they showed a show where the bahu is defiant and rebels against her sasural when she's being tormented. From that standpoint, Rakt Sambandh was great for most of its time - where the blind girl Sandhya (played by Sriti) discovers that her sasural is behind the murder of her father, and rebels, gets into an accident & regains her eyesight, goes undercover and infiltrates her sasural who think she's dead, and finally drives them to the point where they all end up behind bars. Only negative in that serial is that they went on to show another girl who was doing her MBA, but was only too happy to dump that for marriage.

But back to this show - just one more sad case of a girl being forced to marry - just b'cos of other people's ego.

every show on imagine tv has that basic concept underlining thier drama serials 😆
it always has a touch of saas-bahu in it, this is just another of those typical stories...just mixed up in a different package
why do all the shows have a domineering lady who everyone else has to fear 👎🏼

yeah, it would be sad if the track went the familiar way of saas bahu ...role of women is to take care of home first etc etc...

i really wish they make this a path breaking serial showing how everyone at her sasural helps her complete her education and maybe even build a clinic for her to help the poor.

will be intresting to watch if Jai will stand by her or be a mama's by after marriage...

time to show families as they exist... even in a joint marwari family ... cant believe there is such obedience and compliance to one person...

no harm in one person being the head of the family but built around fear... makes it a little unrealistic.
