I don't think M neither needs or deserves anyone's pity. He knows what exactly what he is doing and why he is doing it. If anything, he desreves special credit and admiration for holding on so steadfastly to his conviction, belief and trust in his love for Geet and hers for him.
Notice he always talks about his anguish at not being with her, there is never any implication of blame in whatever he says to Geet.
He's remorseful about his actions, but he's never pitied himself nor blamed Geet for the state he is in. He definitely does not deserve anyone's pity. So please let us not insult him by pitying him. Admire him, learn from him how live with grace in the worst of situations and wish there were more men and women like him in this world. In my whole life (and I am a very old woman) I've known only one person who is like Maan.
He is a very evolved soul, our dear, dear beloved Maan.

I've been extremely critical of the Cvs and still am, but I must admit someone in the team has a rare sensitivity to nuance, which is probably why I am still watching it despite my disgust with what the CVs have done to the show, epsecially to Geet, whom I've adored from the beginning and still do despite her current mulish behaviour (but I do have a sneaking admiration for her stubbornness, I guess Maan does too, see how he smiles at her even when she's telling him go away)
