Hi friends,

This thread is inspired by Doc D's post in CC ystrday. Here is the link to her post:

http://www.india-forums.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=1646687&TPN=110

She described the ShaNak scene yesterday perfectly- it was Shringaar rasa at display!

To know more about shringaar rasa, pls see this link below:

@ gaayu in classicla dances like khatak /Bharatnatyam./odissi .etc., this is a very
important aspect /emotion/expression while dancing😊
There are numerous songs exclusively for this alone
Ther are many popular songs depicting Lord krishna doing the same with Gopis./Radha .😊
I loved Dr docs post..Very good to have such fine writers here.( many are thre ..in fact ..our f
orum is full of creative people😊) .. It is pleasure reading them😊

Does anyone know how to highlight the links so that when people click, they can directly go to the site?

@ Shriya

Yes, I know. In classical dance this is very important but also in our literature and poetry. This thread is for those young people in this forum, who may not be aware of shringara rasa and all... Dance sequences in films hardly have any such rasa, LOL... don't want people to think that the scene was filmy.

It is like a beautiful ode to a wife... as a husband who is smitten by her beauty loves to deck her with the jewellery that add to her inner beauty... shining through her eyes expressing her love for him.. her dedication, her everything... as he takes intense pleasure in it all....
Sigh beautiful Shringaar Ras....😳
Thanks Gaayu for this thread as well as Doc.. for inspiring along with ShaNak.. whose magic leaves us rendered useless...😳

Yup... Jayadeva's ashtapati is a very good example.

There are many RBO fans from Pakistan and other countries, and many are of south asian origin and have been brought up outside the subcontinent. This thread is for them also:)

Gaayu!! Are you kidding me!! You surely can never ever disturb me!! And that too, by your thoughtful gestures.....kabhi nahin re.....kabhi nahin!! 😊

Loved reading everybody's take on the Shringaar Rasa.....
For me, the metaphor was that much more special 'cos it was almost Shaan in a sense draping Khanak in all his love.....the bridal finery being only symbolic of the same!
And just feeling those moments without actually mouthing them.....took the scene to another level, altogether!! For a man for whom, the 'saying it aloud' mattered so much......which was all so apparent during the ILU track.......has come thus far, to be able to feel so much........and convey the depth of those emotions without uttering a word!!!
Now that's called evolving as a person......that is growth in characterization!!! 👏👏👏
