The Aftermath

Satiated & exhausted ,he sat up. Somewhere along he had felt her give up fighting.....
"She must have got tired... ..but I'm glad that she gave in....She's mine now...I hope I didn't hurt her too much."....
He turned to look at her...........for a second he failed to recognize the battered figure lying there.........her lips bloody & swollen ......... bruises & bite marks all over her body...... she lay there limp like a battered doll.
"Oh God..did I do that?", he panicked...
"Mishtiii,Mishti baby,get up,open your eyes",he shook her violently.."Open your eyes dammit!!"
The effect of alcohol was fast withering away.......He panicked more as she remained unresponsive......
"Mishtiii", an agonized sob escaped his mouth, when his eyes fell on the tiny drop of blood trickling down her leg......He closed his eyes in remorse & pain.
He covered her & stepped out in the rain as though to wash away his sins........
He stood in the rain wondering whether he'll be strong enough to face the consequences of the crime he had just committed.
After this heinous act ,how was he ever going to face the girl, whom he loved the most in this world ?....... and to whom.... he had inflicted the ultimate wound......a wound that would probably never heal !!!!

He sprinkled some water on her face...
She tried to open her tired eyes......"Water...."
He gently lifted her up and made her back rest against his chest.He put the water bottle to her lips. She gulped the water down and lay back on his chest. She closed her eyes in pain and fatigue.Her whole body felt sore...
He caressed her hair and kissed her forehead.
"I'm sorry Mishti.....Please forgive me.....I didn't mean to do anything like this........It just happened...........but don't worry sweetheart,......everything is going to be alright,I promise !".
His words brought her face to face with the harsh reality of her life.....her eyes flew open....she sat up with a jerk,startled and slightly disoriented!
She turned to face the man,whom,at the moment,she hated with all her heart and soul! Her lips pressed together forming a thin line.She glared at him in disgust.
He looked away fearing that the inferno raging in her eyes might burn him down to ashes!
But he had to do something.....He had to calm her down.......make her forgive and forget,so that they can put all this behind and start afresh........
With all the courage he could muster, he extended his arm towards her,reaching for hers. "Mishti",he began.......
"Don't!!! Don't you dare touch me with your filthy hands, Maan Singh Khurana!!!",she yelled fiercely.
"Mishtiiii,please........"
And then............... she slapped him hard across the face!!!
"I Hate you!!! I hate you with every fiber of my being!!!!
Rot in hell & Die!!!!!!!!!", she lashed out at him,tears running down her face.
With a heart - wrenching sob,she got up and ran out into the rain.........
He fell on his knees,his body shaking with heavy sobs..........,a totally broken man!!!!

She ran blindly...the rain washed away her tears...she wanted to hide herself in her mother's embrace...wanted to hear her father's soothing words........she wanted to die!!!!!

There was no one in sight at the mansion,when she walked in. She couldn't bring herself to tell Daadi and Annie about the mishap.............she felt suffocated and wanted to leave from there........she couldn't stand to breathe the same air as he does...
She wanted to punish him for his inhuman act,but how??? He's a powerful,well connected man..her efforts will be futile. She decided to move out to her house next door. She will punish him and she will do that with Dev's support.
Dev - the name brought a new hope in her mind..Calming down a bit,she packed her stuff and walked out,,,, vowing never ever to enter that house again in her life!!!!!

It was way past midnight when Maan entered the Mansion. He dreaded going to her room,but decided to check on her. To his dismay,he found the room empty.
"Where is Mishti?? Why is she not home yet?? Did something happen to her?? Did she harm herself??? Oh God! Please don't let anything happen to her...please don't punish her for my crimes."
His worry increased each and every passing moment...He paced up and down,his mind in a daze.
He so wanted to unburden himself of the ugly truth!
Reaching a decision,he knocked at her door.

She slapped and cursed the doomed man kneeling before her,sobbing and begging for forgiveness. She couldn't believe that her grand son,her secret pride,could stoop this low.
"Get out of here and never show me your face again..Leave!!!!"
"I will Daadi,I will..but please wait till I find Mishti. She's all alone some where...we've to find her."
"I'll take care of my little Mishti. Don't you dare go anywhere near her Maan,I'm warning you!!!!"
He nodded dejectedly and got up to leave.

Annie heard everything...her brother's confession...Daadi's punishment........everything!
She quietly went to her room unnoticed by both Maan & Daadi.
Falling on her bed,she cried her heart out......at her friend's doomed fate.......at her inability to save her Geet from harm....at her helplessness!!

Daadi had an intuition that Geet might be in her parent's house. She found her Mishti there,cuddled up in her parent's room,hugging their photo,tired even to cry...Seeing her in such a battered state, Daadi couldn't stop her tears. She took the young girl in her arms...let her cry her woes away and kept rocking her back and forth till she fell into a fitful slumber.

He stood watching them, outside.... in the darkness...
She was safe and that's all that mattered at that moment.
He would leave her for now..that's what Daadi also wanted....
But once the matter cools down,he'll come back to claim his love!
