Another example would be Shakti-Amar from DID2.....they could never again manage to match their first "Khuda Jaane" performance which became iconic overnight. They did well otherwise, yes......but THAT level was ultimate....nothing matched that again.

And with Sushant-Shampa, I'd say I've been the most impressed with some of their earliest acts.....the horror one, the folk round with the Mrityunjay act (those were like WOW)....the trio act, O re piya, the maa act.....they brought something extra to the table always......

The finale act felt surprisingly simple....atleast what I managed to watch of it....lol

Yeah, I know what you mean. The finale act was def. not as good if you compare it to the rest of the season. However, I still felt that dance wise the performance was good. I think maybe because these guys were criticized a bit for having concepts to enhance a performance. Maybe that's why towards the end they didn't include concepts in their performances. Also I think Sushant's back injury may have affected their performances towards the end of the show. Another reason could be the song choice too. Usually these guys pick really good songs that have a lot of scope also. This song, although romantic and nice sounding, doesn't have THAT much scope to be super creative you know what I mean? I think all these factors came into play. But yeah def. not their best performance for sure. I think we expect too much from these guys too now.

But if I had to compare the three duet performances, I would still rate Sushant and Shampa's as the best one. It was true in essence to the music...the emotion was brought out best in these guys' act. The choreography was also most innovative out of the three I feel. Even in the solo round I felt that Sushant was the best one. The clear best one actually. 😉

But yeah, good point about how towards the end the performances go down. That always happens. I think it's because creativity is at its best in the beginning...but towards the end the focus is more on competitiveness, winning, pressure etc. The environment overall I guess is just not the best for being most creative. The only exception I think was Jai from DID1. He just kept getting better and better with each episode!! Even Alisha I think! These guys just kept improving and showing new sides to their talent! Kept pushing themselves. I remember even towards the end Alisha was attempting classical/Indian-bollywood type of dances which was not her forte. Even Jai was doing tap dancing and stuff like that while other contestants *cough* were pretty much playing it safe with what they were already good at. 😛😆 Man DID1 was just such an awesome dance show! Nothing like it ever again! :)

Oh I agree yaar...no denying at all that even though it wasn't as good as his previous performances, it was still the best of the night to me as well........agree with you about the song choice also....felt kinda drab for the song and the kind of choreography they had.....a more uplifting song would have felt better.

And yeah I too feel that somewhere after Sushant injured his back, it did trickle into his performances a bit.....although he was FAB in Tuesday's epi in the opening act....just WOW.....but yeah on Monday, I did find some things a bit off.....

@bold: LMAO word😉😆.....those *cough* contestants continued to play safe in JDJ as well😆....shirt kholo, muscles dikhao.....the usual😆

So true about how Jai just continued to grow SUPERBLY in DID1 and so did Alisha.....ahh I loved that season.....poor Jai was also ROBBED of his rightful win.....ahh well.....even in JDJ bechara got shortchanged....hope he gets a better contestant next season.....he'd win this in a HEARTBEAT😛
