Mishal Raheja aims higher

Many would agree that Mishal Raheja aka Datta Bhau of the popular teleserial Laagi Tujhse Lagan, is the undisputed don of the small screen. But what most of us don't know is that Mishal is a man with high ambitions.

This intense actor who has won hearts with his hugely popular portrayal of the iconic Datta is actually aspiring quite high. "My aim has always been Bollywood and maybe even Hollywood," says Mishal, adding that his producers knew about this from day one.

With the possibility of the show wrapping up does he have Bollywood or other offers at hand? "No, right now I don't have anything at hand, though, there have been a couple of offers. But I am very patient and will wait for the right thing to come along. Playing Datta Bhau for so long has creatively exhausted me and I have been wanting to leave for a long time but my contract was extended. They have been very amicable. The show Lagi' is very close to my heart but I cannot drag a particular character for so long. I want to do something more and something new."

A few months back it was reported that the popularity and adulation achieved by Mishal, thanks to this serial, apparently went straight to his head and he began throwing tantrums.

Mishal, however, denies it all vehemently, "Visit my sets, meet the spot dadas, the technical crew and even the cleaning staff and you will know the truth. I share a beautiful rapport with the entire team and was shocked when that story surfaced."

Mishal clarifies saying that after his contract expired they requested him to continue for a few months and extended his contract. "I have worked very hard and everyone knows the kind of person that I am," he says.

Hemal Thakkar the producer of LTL says, "Whose rumour is it anyway? I really have nothing much to say about this. Our show is synonymous with Datta Bhau and he is an icon, a permanent character in our serial."

I can't get my head around these articles anymore. So if Dutta is an icon and a permanent character, will they replace Mishal if he wants to leave? 😒 x

I sincerely wish that he gets watever he aspires for in life. He has won our hearts with his spectacular acting and all we can give him in return are our prayers......thats the least we can do. God bless u MR

FIRST time we got a direct quote from the producer! Wow! LOL.....

Mishal is basically saying what he's already said many times before....so we already know that......again, this doesn't give us a concrete idea of if/when he'll exit from the show......

But Mr. Thakkar's quote is interesting...indeed Dutta is the icon of this show.....good to see the PH verbalizing it in this way.....but I still don't know what it means long term.....lol

Zahra/Naina: If Mr. Thakkar is smart enough to realize that Dutta is the real icon of this show then he should also be smart enough to realize that the REASON he's an icon is cuz of MR😆

But oh well.....we still dunno what they'll do...

I'll wish MR all the best for his future but I'd still like to know if/when/what they plan to do with Dutta's character cuz then I can happily tune out after he's gone.....lol
