I know it's very simple statement

I see few actors saying this line and I was wondering what they meant

"I don't act to live. I live to act."

That they don't act to make money. But they act because acting is important for them to live their life (eg like food is important for us to live). Or something along that line lol

I saw the speech of a famous actor saying that so for a second, I was thinking did he mean that statement the same way I'm thinking it is....so was double checking on it...lol I know dumb post

Its a lameass way of saying," hey hire me, I'm jobless, I don't have any acting assignments up my sleeve, so please offer me at least one film, I need the money, I'm broke....I can't even afford my Chanel bags and Jimmy choos anymore"....

Was it an SRK speech? He says it all the time ...meh.

It just means they dont act just to earn money from this profession. They are living/exist to act only becuz its their "passion". wow, that was boring.

It was said at Oscars by a a possible octogenarian, though its a very common line. Most of the people pursuing a career in fine arts are a bit of maniacs, they have to be, to be part of such an uncertain career. Well, atleast the people who work up their way and aren't served the careers to them.
