Kabirs place
The equilibrium was out of joint in Sid's world. For starters he was second guessing his presence in front of these kid's. He saw three pair of eyes watching him in distrust of how this moment would pan out. He didn't really understand how these three could help him with his situation. He wasn't confident in the teens. Not one iota. Oh well he was here now he might as well get this over and done with it. Was this practical? No. Was this logical? No. He was a slave to his own primal needs if that was what he'd call it. Sid sat still aiming to let the others take charge. He'd observed Lux was positioned in a menacing mode with his arms folded wary eyes before him analysing the situation as if he were the alpha male protecting the girls from potential danger. Sid understood Lux's fears if the role were reversed he'd do what it took to protect any of his sisters from danger. Lexie had a more direct approach. Now she was the real boss he was positive with her natural leadership skills. She was assessing Sid's eyes. Sid found all this bizarre like she was looking through his soul. While Sid saw Pari as the more emotional of the three bearing all on her soft features. All three gave him goose bumps.
Lexie finally spoke out selecting her words carefully with her hands clasped together-"So Sid! I'm thinking we are your last resort to your predicament? U want to see if we are touched with the gift of Witch craft or in Lux's case Wizardry?"
Pari finished-"U want us to demonstrate what we can do. Well for us to show U our powers U will have to suggest what U want us to do unless U want us to read your mind?"
Sid laughed out loud as if this were some kind of hoax-"This has got to be a joke? I can't believe i'm going through this."
Lux spat angrily raising his voice-"We look like we are joking? U came to us. Not the other way round. U don't have any other alternative which is why U are sitting there and not walking out."
Lexie shot Lux her eyes indicating him to chill-"My brother doesn't have time to suffer fools lightly. He's more into action speaking louder than words kinda guy. This is what we will do for U Sid. We are each going to show U something in turn the rest is up to U to decide. We will not be responsible for what happens next."
Pari explained the three were unstoppable as a collective but individually they were powerful in their own right but it was the girls who'd inherited the most powerful of the genome. Pari began to show Sid her controlling the elements outside. She closes her eyes as Pari changes her moods to bring forth the weather to change from it being sunny to raining at the drop of a notice as the cloud begin to darken. Then she brought forth sleet changing it back while making Sid feel the whole experience to prove this was all real and not a trick. Sid's eyes grew big but he wasn't sure what all this really was. Then Lux searched into Si'd mind to see what he wanted which was objects to move around before his eyes. Lux squinted his eyes in concentration but to Sid this all seemed like this was hard work for him. it wasn't a piece of cake as Lux was ruled by his anger. He began spouting out the sofa cushions at Sid making him jump. It was all sudden making Lux laugh out loud. It was the first time he'd seen a grown man jump which was fun. Lux started moving them frantically then moved some of the ornaments around while having magazines fly about. Lux got a little carried away and the cushions burst open with feathers flying everywhere.
Lux returned all the floating items back to their original places-"Whoops! Kabir's not going to like this mess. Sorry Lexie U know how i get."
Lexie scolded her brother-"U are going to clean this up before the others get back They don't know what we can do remember."
Lux sniggered cheekily-"Yes boss."
Lexie returned her attention back to Sid-"He gets a little too excited with his powers. Now my turn. I see a lot of anger in U which show me fire. I'll show U how to spark a fire just by a simple thought. This U will know is not a trick. Now Sid i want U to watch my hands held out in front of U. This won't take long."
Lexie begins her fire starter incantation in some latin language as her eyes darken turning blach. Sid was scared for once he'd witnessed raw anger in its purest form. Fire started to light up out of nowhere within Lexie's hands. It all appeared like an allure of some mystiques of an enchantment he'd only ever saw on tv or a really good movie filled with special effects. She'd made the flame grow and spread around in the form of a phoenix rising from the ashes just by the image of Pia in her mind. She was so signified with the Pheonix that never died but always rose from an imminent end to start anew for her love. Sid watched in awe of the beautiful woman before him and the whole flames were then replaced by petals as Lexie had softened her mood so quick.
Lexie gave an electrifying smile with her accomplished goal to show Sid they meant business-"So i hope we've persuaded U with our gifts now. Hey Da's coming back."
Pari concurred-"Yeah i'm feeling him."
Sid repeated-"Da?"
Pari answered-"Da is Abhay. He's like a brother in Bangla short for Dada. He is headed this way. We're all linked by blood."
Sid managed a simple-"Oh."
Lexie asked-"I already know what U think of all this. But i want to hear U say it so Lux can get the satisfaction of seeing your face when U say this out loud."
Sid's frown said it all-"Sorry for thinking U were all nuts. I believe in magic."
Lux changed his reaction to a smile now-"Wasn't so hard was it?"
Sid began-"Is Abhay a warlock or wizard however U people want to be labelled as?
Lux bluntly says-"No he's a more complex case. He was born gifted but a twist of fate decided on a different route for him. If he had it his way he'd have ended his existence long ago but he has a reason for living now. He's more gifted on a physical playing level just like U will be soon. U know creatures of the night type of thing. Girls go gaga over that. Look at Piya she's already hooked on him like he we're some sort of drug."
Pari tried it word it more politely-"He means Abhay is a magnet. Piya is his other half U know soulmate. That's why Piya is so inseparable from Abhay. Like the sort that are reborn just to be with their love. Its the ultimate kind U get if you are lucky enough to find it."
Lux let slip-"Yeah till Piya dies and the whole cycle restarts again. She's already been though the mill."
Sid ambivalently queries worried with the answer. Lux was on about Piya dying freaked him out-"Why did U say till Piya dies? Is she in danger?"
Pari gave her cousin a gentle mind blast while Abhay just kept his calm-"Piya is an old soul. This isn't her first life or second or third. She's in her forth cycle."
Sid asks again raising his voice a little higer-"Is she in danger?"
Abhay give Sid the truth-"Not sure but we are dealing with it. It's a grey zone. The woman after Piya isn't normal. She's deranged and mentally imbalanced. We think she's stalking her but the last few days we haven't heard or seen her."
Lexie added soothing Sid's uncertainties-"We did an enchantment ritual summoning the spirit of Sugandh to help Piya. It's a warning bell that only Piya can hear giving her the heads up to run. She will keep Piya safe for the time being but we have been working on an armour spell to block physical counters. She's in safe hands Sid."
Sid was relieved. He'd thought Piya was enchanted by some wiccan spell to fall for Abhay then. Plus some strange woman wanted Piya. This was surreal-"Ok i understand. So how can U help me?"
Abhay gets back to Kabir's leaving Piya with Misha and Kabir shopping for outfits for their concert giving Piya his plastic to spend as she saw fit. He'd told Misha strictly to make sure Piya bought a few things. While Tracker and Angad were already at the clothes store picking some items out. Abhay saw the whole room looked like a bomb site. He knew who the culprit was. Abhay watched Sid. He was handling all of this in his stride. Good Sid had believed what his wiccan tribe had shown him. he was willing to give their way a shot. He just wished there was a way to cure this but Abhay knew better. He took all the groceries into the kitchen and did all the preparations in record time already placing all the cut onions, in oil with the garlic and the meat together with the herbs letting it tenderise. In the second Pot he makes a mix of onion paste with Garlic and adds in the masala letting it simmer while he went to chat to the others.
Abhay walking into the room filled with feather fluff-"Hi Sid! Glad U made it here. About time we got started on an action plan."
Sid was listening carefully to Abhay with his eyes intently taking all this madness in-"I get why this lot here are trying to help me it's some kind of goodwill on their part and part loyalty to U. But why are U helping me?"
Abhay was honest-"Because U are Piya's brother. I'd do anything for her and her family's safety but i kind of feel guilty. Theres so much going on already. We have a pack of wolves already on the other side of the river. We don't want U going over there and adding to it as their companion. Theres a small chance U may lose all your humanity if not some if U change depending on how traumatic the experience is."
Sid ventures on fuelling more questions-"How do U know all this?"
Abhay continued on-"I've dealt with a wolf long a go. Lets just say things ended on a bad note and i don't want to repeat this. He didn't make it out in one piece. He was slaughtered by a clan of enemies."
Sid countered-"Enemies?"
Abhay couldn't say vampires it was all too much-"I can't divulge who they were. Sid, I will be honest with U bro. We don't know how to stop this transformation U are going through. Its out of our hands but we will help U with the pain relief, support, coaching U into a smooth transition. Oh and don't bite anyone in your wolf state could have unwanted repercussions. The curse will be brought on them from one bite."
Sid had done his research but Abhay knew a lot on paranormal or what was this supernatural beings. Misha told him Abhay was the brains in this town she wasn't half kidding-"Why am i going through all this?"
Abhay knew this was his fault but he couldn't tell him all the truth-"Someone's triggered the curse. All i can say is i'm sorry."
Lux nodded-"Yeah bro totally feeling your pain. We're all cut up for U. Especially Abs he get's senti over injustice. He carries a load full of it on his back. Why do U thing he's so strong and always so broody. Make sure U take this on board. You'll see why."
Sid didn't like the sound of this and Abhay was behaving strange-"This is all so deep. I find my sister Piya who is a pro at being reborn. I'm turning into an animal or whatever this is. Piya being stalked by a lunatic is hard enough and i discover that magic really exists. Is there anything else U guys would like to reveal?"
Lexie shot-"No! U need to take all this in first we can't bombard U with more things to worry about."
Sid knew they were hiding something but he also new his limitations-"Ok so what do we do first?"
Abhay stood up to go back to the kitchen-"I'll be in there finishing up. I'll catch up with everything later."
Lexie beamed at Abhay-"It smells gorgeous. I can't wait to eat."
Sid asked-"He cooks too?"
Lux finished-"Abhay's perfect he can do everything."
Lexie states boldly with her hands in Sid to feel how far along he is-"The change is coming faster than we expected 6 days till the change hit U. We can try to sedate the pain mentally but it won't be enough to keep your other senses from kicking in. U know the primal ones to kill. Its the ways of the beast. I'm sorry the animal. In some legends it states a change shouldn't happen this drastically unless you've killed something."
Sid says in a low voice-"I ran over a deer a few days back. It came out of nowhere."
Pari understood this whole situation-"It explains how your moods are so out of sync with U."
Lexie delved further trying to brush past a dark cloud of anger finding a small ray of light in the dark tunnel until she went further in. His own happy place filled with love for his parent, sisters including Piya who he really wanted to get to know missing out on her childhood. Lexie saw further in watching the moments in his life he'd cherished the most and expanded it out till most of the darkness surrounding his mind we're filled with light. For now his dark moods swings will be kept a bay until his transformation. It would stop Sid from doing anything stupid keeping him on a tight leash. Part of Lexie wanted to really heal Sid internally but its the ways of the God's. Hell she'd searched every possible avenue to turn Abhay back to a human with no success. Abhay's problem was irreversible and who knew if Abhay would turn to a pile of dust through his years roaming around on the planet for centuries. It just wasn't meant to be but Sid wasn't dead. The curse had to be reversible. Lexie wasn't giving up easily. Crap she'd just realized she was thinking in Sid's mind. Lexie tried damage control by covering up Abhay's status as the undead by erasing that thought.
Lexie asks Sid eagerly-"How are U feeling now?"
Sid's burden was lifted-"At peace. Whatever U did in there worked a treat. I'm no longer in my own abyss."
Pari smiled –"Good. This isn't a permanent fix. It will come back on the night U turn. Part of the process i'm afraid."
Lux warned Sid in a grave voice filling Sid with uncertainty-"We are going to need supplies to hold U down. Iron handcuffs and chain even silver that won't be hard as Abhay has a stock of them just in case. We will need some natural herbs to keep U weak so U don't make mincemeat out of us."
Pari nipped in-"We will have to find a safe haven to trap U in. So U don't escape. Can't have U killing people can we? Maybe the circle of silver will do the trick."
Sid was enthralled by all this attention to detail. It sounded out of the dark ages-"Isn't this a bit much? I'm not going to exactly going to go round tearing people to shreds am i?"
Lux countered back drilling-"We are taking precaution. I'm not risking my families neck on the line just like that am i? Like U i need to protect my sisters. I'm sure U don't want them to be one of your victims. As an animal U won't be thinking like a human are U? That's the difference between a human and an animal."
Sid understood all the dangers-"If things go out of hand i want U to put me out of my misery."
Lux nodded-"Will do."
Lexie forced them to think positively-"We won't let this beat us. "
Sid was awestruck by Lexie's sheer optimism-"I'm not letting this get the better of me."
Abhay adds all the curry powder and in the other pot he puts the fish in. Abhay overheard what the others were talking about on Sids problem including Lexies mind treatment. He zoomed off to pick Piya and the others from their trip.
At the Mall
Piya tried on the rock chick outfit Misha picked out for her. It was too much. The leather was beautiful but so tight. Tracker advised going a dress size smaller always made a girls assets speak volumes. Piya wasn't too sure. Yeah she almost didn't recognize the girl in the mirror had it not been for her long curls. It wasn't her but she thought Abhay would get a shock of his life seeing her in this. She may as well live dangerously. Take a leaf out of Misha's life although Misha never wore this stuff either. Her thing was jeans with T-shirt. Something comfy. Tracker had assured Misha and Piya about the trends that were in. A rock concert called for an edgier feel. Misha was trying to impress Lux without being too in your face. She wasn't about to wear a dress for him but she could carry this off. She was going to rock Lux's pants off figuratively. From what Piya told Misha Lux wasn't keen on girly girls well this wasn't too girly more biker chick. Hey so long as she didn't have to wear killer heels she was fine with this get up. Misha admitted to herself she looked smoking.
Kabir whistled in approval-"Girls, girls this is very chic. U can dress this way for me anytime."
Angad grinned-"We are so lucky. Good job i followed Tracker's tweet. I'd have missed all this. Misha in this is like a 1 in a million chance of it happening. Think of all the money we can win from bets."
Misha hit Kabir at the back of his head-"That's for being such a guy."
Kabir winced out-"Ouch! That was a compliment yaar. U girls are just too much. I was just messing."
Misha cautioned Kabir-"Well if U love your life U won't."
Misha gave Angad a whack on his shoulders-"That's for contemplating on putting me down for a bet. I'm not a modern day Draupadi Ok?"
Angad moaned-"That really hurt. We would have made a mint bro."
Misha threatened Angad-"That smack U got was the demo man. U want the full hit i'll gladly give it U. Then U will forget your name."
Angad smiled-"Fine i won't do it then. U girls are so mean."
Kabir curiously asked-"Any chance seeing Lexie in this?"
Piya curtly answered-"I think she's got something else in store for U. Wait and see Kabir."
Kabir pondered-"I wonder how it would have been if U hadn't had met Abhay and if his family never came here."
Piya thoughtfully finished-"Life would have been dull. We meet people just as fate tended it to be. Kabir you're not still U know?"
Kabir was over Piya-"No Piya. U are my dearest friend. I'll always love U but i can see Abhay is the one for U not me. I guess i've always known it but couldn't accept the truth. I'm happy for U. Truely i am. I'm sorry for being such an a** before but i wanted to get this out. I'm just grateful i didn't lose U as a friend."
Misha beamed-"Oh guy's that is so (gags jokingly) sweet. This calls for a group hug."
