so tell me

Do the lyrics of a song matter or you just like a song beause of its composition!!!

or sometimes is it that it is picturised on your fav stars... or your fav music director hsa composed it

Can you also write your fav lyrics of any song you like

well I like songs because of thier lyrics..... and sometimes tune matters......

Like there is a song Jaan-e-maan from film Radio......

I dont like the tune or nything I just like how Himes sings

Ik naam tumhara le kar hum jeetay hain martay

Yeh ishq nibha dena guzarish yeh kartay hain

Jaan-e-maan O jaan-e-maan.....

Or Bheegii se main jo lyrics hain

Meri ankhoun ki sihahi Piya deti hai gawahi...Im always humming these lyrics.....

Both actually

Suraj Hua Maddham and Mere Haath Mein come to mind. They both are very musically organized because their both original pieces and require a full orchestra. The lyrics are sooo beautiful!

I love this topic...and yes lyrics def matter!! Suraj hua maddham I love!! I usually love all AR Rehman and Gulzar combos!!! The words are so rich and the music touches your soul like tu hi re, barso re, tere bina, dil se songs!!

I love this tamil song called thul thuli mazhai....I have no idea what it means, but the words and the music compliment each other so well!!!

Yes and no.

Good lyrics can enhance a song's value and beauty by leaps and bounds. For instance, the Tadap Tadap ke song from HDDCS..there's this line where Salman is heartbroken wants to ask God the reason behind making his body out of clay/mud but making his heart out of glass. and on top of that god made human nature so that a person falls in love but also gives a destiny that ends up separating lovers..BEAUTIFUL

I mean I never liked bollywood music before because I didn't really get these hardcore lyrics but as I grew up I realized how beautiful these songs have been composed and written.

With that being said, I also enjoy crappy lyrics if the tune is catchy (Love mera hit hit, Darededisco Sheela ki jawaani etc)..😉

I completely agree!! I love the song O re piya for the same reason and Achchi lagti ho, especially the line where he asks her what should I call you "Dilnashin, Naazneen, Mahero, Mehzabeen" b/c all of these are your name! I love the use of such rich and poetic words...it's so soothing to the ears!!!
