Suggestion of celebrity ranking:Vijay's note pg6,7 - Page 5

Well the ranking system does not relate to the real world in the first place, esp for the TV show celebrities, because the highest ranking stars are always/ mostly from SO which is far from reality so however the rankings do occur it will make no difference as it will always remain bias!

Some of the interesting arguments I have noticed in this topic are:

a) Most of the StarOne Show Actors are up in the Rankings where as the TRPs for these shows are not as high as on other channels.

b) Stars might be busy in their shooting that they dont care much about their PR and thus score low on Buzz points.

and a few more which we would look into them when making further changes in the ranking system.

I think the ranking every week should be established with:

Ranking System is so UNfair. Ranking system should be justifice to everyone. if ranking system can not be justifice then i think there should be NO ranking system.

We have reworked on the Ranking algorithm and changed the weightage set for different parameters. Now the maximum points a Celebrity can get in a week is 1000.

There have been several complaints on MIDs and fake accounts created by some members to game the system. So we reworked on this flaw and changed how we calculate the Fans count. Now we are going to count "Active Fans".

We will only count the members who have visited the site in that particular week (even if it is once) as a valid Fan Count.

How does this change works is like this:

Lets say that a fan group of XYZ created 20 new IDs on India-Forums and joined XYZ's fanclub to increase his fan count. It might work well with the celeb for the first week that it will somewhere help them. But if these 20 ids have not logged in to the site for the next week then its not counted in the Active Fans. We would also not be counting members who have recently joined (in the last 7 days).

Similarly there are checks on the comment spam and views.

most of the times # of views are higher than comments. Views should also count

and not all the actors have blog. all the time it is unfair and bias.

Additi Gupta Had zero buzz this time then how did she went to 21

b/c she is always in top 10. ( but this time it's a shocking )

Ranking System should be fair enough !

Blog views are not counted.

u can do a thing vijay, open a poll and ask there through giving two options like "yes" and "no" that- "should buzz point totally be ignored in ranking?"
