hi
following is an article from my blog
indian-telly-vision.blogspot.com
thanks

American television has always come up with seasons of their hit shows. This trend is unknown and virtually non existent in Indian television. But looks like things are changing and once again its none other than Ekta Kapoor who has made the first move with the second season of her romantic show Kitni Mohaabat Hai for Imagine.

The first season of this romantic love story had done fairly well. In fact the leads characters of the show Arjun and Arohi did manage to find way to viewers hearts.(Ekta has always managed to make stars out of no one. Be it Kasish and Sujal or Gauri and Pratham in Kutumb - all these characters have been remembered by the people even though the shows have been off air for years now)

The second season of Kitni Mohhabat Hai deals with two families who are poles apart. Not only the families but even the two leads are at loggerheads with each other. Basically the show follows the simple story. Pehle takraar, phir pyar, phir inkaar and then finally iqraar. Still the show emerges to be a winner all the way. Not only the show looks youthful but it has certain freshness to it. No longer are the characters looking too garish or neither is Arohi like any other typical television lead character. (even her dressing is smart and more up-to-date with the day's trend)

Right from episode 1, its very clear that the show is trying to create and establish Arohi and Arjun as the next love icons of Indian television. And to be frank, they have a winner in hand. The screenplay belongs to the genre of Ekta Kapoor. The episodes have enough of masala to keep the drama and suspense element alive. Also it is full of duals between the the two leads which makes the viewing interesting. Not only the characters look up to date, but even the dialogues and the situations are in more sync with the today's youth.

I think Ekta Kapoor has done it again. She always had her fingers on the pulse of Indian audience, and with this show, she proves this once again. ( Though the show might not be able to climb beyond certain level on the TRP charts, this will be solely because its on Imagine.)

But we can still expect to see the season 3 of Kitni Mohabbat Hai and there will be more of Arohi and Arjun in times to come.

Yah ur right we are happy to get a season2 for KMH. But if iam not wrong even kutumb had a sequel i didnot watch it though.
How ever we ridicule Ekta Kapoor she is the one who always dared to do experimentation.... Be it showing the bold characters with larger than life potrayal.... She is the one who gave us some memorable jodis we can never forget..... Because she gets us attached to those characters that we laugh, cry, hate and live with them as they were a part of our life.

Abolutely agree on it! Actually when I watch KMH1 and then how KaranKritz fall in love on the sets - truly speaking I felt the same sparkling love that we saw for HitenGauri! Ekta is successful because the love icon actually even if they are acting but then when they show the emotion of love,it touches our heart because, their own genuine emotion is involved! Despite being professional, they are very comfortable and relaxed to say these words that gave us heart warming touch! As you said too, many stories are the same, only the way it is shown and the characters are bit innovated but then the theme is the same and they get the same love because each era has their audience who are in the phase that attract that particular class! They have their old audience too and they watched it on a different view but enjoy itt as they have grown too;-)
And about the fashionista, this is right as well! Ekta knows that all other channel is talking on female lead as simple traditional girl, she has already done it in KMH1 but with a flavour of strong willed character, independent, sweet and practical and smart that made her character depiction just a step beyond other shows!
This time it comes directly on a bubbly modern girl character where the attracted class of audience easily identified towards and the way the scenes are set have to be a little filmy because of the young audience and the love is between 2 extremes that she is not encouraging because Arjun Singhania and Arohi Aluwalia are fictitious characters! The filmy grain must flow for audience not to be drown in the characters to the extent of taking this love can happen in real life too but the emotions that she invoking is definitely genuine! She does take care of everything she shows in the scene! And definitely Arjun and Arohi as the romantic avtar!
I always amuse myself with the thought of lets have 7 seasons of KMH where we see all the 7 births of Arjun and Arohi;-) lol
Definitely she has also known the perfect key success of this show is to keep it sweet and short and let the audience to appreciate to the extent to demand for a season 3! Myself enjoying the show,is demanding for full 7 series! Make KMH a saga as successful as TWILIGHT saga!
Anyway, she knows the perfect marketing strategy and is definitely applaudable!
Cheers

thanks a lot for sharing, i agree with what's written in the article and all other posts here :) Other than Arjun Punj and Arjun Singhania, the only other character that i have loved of Indian dramas is that of Sujal, but its really so sad and i feel so helpless and scarred when i cannot watch the old epis of Kahin Toh Hoga since the story was such a mess. i m so happy and also thankful that KMH is always short and sweet, without stretching it to where the characters and the story r ruined. Thus, unlike in KTH, i dont feel cheated while watching KMH since the essence has been retained and only sweet memories r there, not the scars.

That's truely amazing such type of shows must be shown.

In spite of telecasting a show for too long we must have season one, two n so on...............

That will be interesting n refreshing as well.

If we think about Karan n Kritz both r as rocking as Hiten n Gauri.
