Shabbir Ahluwalia says that he will not be regressive

"I am an actor and whatever I have become today is because I have been an actor. So there's no question of compromising on that front," says actor Shabbir Ahluwalia as he turns TV producer for the first time ever. Shabbir admits that things will be a little tough for him initially but is willing to go the extra mile.

Shabbir cautiously treads the path when he is told that he too is taking the regressive route to ensure that his debut serial is a hit. "It is not being regressive. There is a regressive tradition in the village which the protagonist (the heroine) of the serial will fight against." he explains.

Tell him that regressive rural traditions are glorified in most serials these days and he counters, "I am aware of that. It's not up to me to comment on other serials that are on air now. I can only tell you that I'm not going to do that for sure," he signs off.
