I havent' watched the epi yet dear..
and even yesterday i didn't get a chance to.. SO i can't say much as to what has happened so i am going to keep my 'defense' on bay.. more so.. i will not defend SHaan if he has made it more visible but that dialogue you posted does hurt.
Sam has misunderstood.. it is not about love her.. and it is not about friendship winning over love and Khanak will let her know of the same.. i can see that coming..

I know it will happen darling.........CVs will make Shanak remain together lovey - dovey and all...........magar abhi shaan ka kya kiya jaaye...........itne pitne ke kaam karey hain usne........poocho kyon?.......

BUT:
Understand this... Khanak has always been about picking up challenges and running with it.... and this one.. (Shaan and his friends) .. she will face this one to.. and prove it to Shaan that really?? Is she only a "wife" for a name!?
