How do you all justify that? Aditya told Priya.."main tere atit ke bare mein sab janu aur tujhe dilon jaan se pyar karu" ...Wasn't it a lie???? No sensible person would do that......It will be really really heart breaking for Priya one more time when she comes to know that Aditya never read his letter!!!!!!!!!!!!! She is so fragile right now emotionally......
How heart breaking and painful that would be???? How can you trust a person after that in everyday life that he is not lying to you?

I agree with this. Much as I love Aditya, I think he was wrong not to read the letter, and then to lie about it to Priya.

A) story-wise, there was nothing in the letter that was going to adversely affect Adi-Priya AT THIS MOMENT. She did not know the name of the "bade sahib", so, from a creative point of view, there would have been no harm done to make Adi read the letter. The real stinger will come anyway when Priya and Brahmanand recognise each other.

B) if Adi's love for Priya really is that strong, and his claim that "nothing in her past can make me change my mind about her", then what is the harm in reading it?! To me it felt like he was making the excuse because he was worried that something MAY change his mind.

At the end of the day, the real reason for him not reading it was that the story could not develop without a few future misunderstandings. There's more potential, drama-wise, if he doesn't read it. So I get that part of it, even though it disappoints me. The story potential that exists, when Aditya is forced to face the facts about his father, and perhaps choose between the girl AND the dad he loves beyond reason - that potential will make for exciting and explosive storylines. SO I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, even though all this proves that poor communication will always lead to misunderstandings.

btw, just wanted to say hi to everyone - I'm new to this forum but not to IF. I used to be very active on IF in the past but left a few years ago because my favourite shows ended. Maryada is the first show in four years to interest me enough to come back😊

Welcome back!! Totally agree with you....after a long long time...a real good mature grown up shows has come up. A real good break from Saas bahu drama and specially "Ekta" type shows.

I like Adiya and have lot of expectations from this character..............so really really really hope that they don't ruin the character.

Thanks!

Yes, from the beginning Aditya has been shown to be very impulsive, cheeky and irreverent, BUT underneath that fun exterior, he has a serious mind and is very mature. So I hope the creatives keep his character along the same lines and don't change him to become like some suspecting, arrogant Ekta-style husband after marriage. I'm very, very interested to see how the creatives deal with Aditya learning the truth about his father. In that respect he seems very naive; unlike his elder brother who keeps a distance from their dad, Aditya dotes and is doted on. It would be interesting to see how he reacts to the revelation of Priya's encounter with the SSP, and what he does after it. I just hope it doesn't change him into too much of a sourpuss😭 - I quite like his comic and fun-loving nature 😆

I did get the feel too that behind his claims about his love for her he was trying to remain ignorant about the situation as what you don't know doesn't hurt but then taking into account his character which is very mature and understanding behind the boyish charm i was ready to let it go. As u said it the story has more potential that way.

Hiiiiiii chick!! Thank you - I'm good, yeah, I left soon after KZK finished and haven't been back since now. Nothing really enticed me to stay on after the disappointment of that, as you know😭 How are you??

Ahhh, just looking at that PM sig (mine, thank you for using😳) reminds me of the good old days...man I miss the premikas!

Maryada was actually the first show in a LONG time to interest me in the way PM used to...so much of that is down to the great acting by all...there are so many shows today that have AWFUL actors, but this is one where almost everyone is fantastic in their own ways. It's a great show - you should stick around!

Yeah, the story can unfold more this way. I understood Adi's intentions behind not reading it, but to me a) he started off the relationship with a lie, which is never good, and b) even if it wouldn't change his mind, what happened to plain old curiosity??? If it were me, I would not have been able to resist reading it...just to see.

@Vasu: I miss the Premikas so much 😭 The only shows that caught my attention after KZK are Rishta.com & Geet. I might catch up on Maryada this weekend 🤔 Hope to see you around 😊
