I come to know about this forum (about a year ago) through my younger sister who was searching for details regarding a TV serial she'd missed.
I'm an ordinary member in this vast ocean of IF (India Forums) consisting of more than 1,18,144 members. This is one of the best forums that I've ever come across.
This forum doesn't discriminate anyone on the basis of his/her religion, ethnicity, gender, caste and creed. Such neutrality is essential for the success of any forum or media.
In one of the neighbouring countries' forum I've observed members abusing, attacking and accusing each other the moment they disagree on any issue. These attacks were most virulent or vicious.
Even posts of some Indian members were tampered with. Passwords of some Indian members were stolen and their accounts were hacked.
Some Indian members were always being taunted and asked to go to some Indian forum. Their very presence was disliked.
Unfortunately, some Indian members were desperately begging to join that particular forum. Mercifully the Interactive section of that forum was wound up and all the posts disappeared overnight.
I've never come across such things in this forum so far as most members are polite and well behaved. They voluntarily adhere to the net etiquette.
There were around less than 40,000 members when I'd joined this group. Now it's grown to more than 1,18,144 members.
The recent addition of slambook has been a feather in the cap for IF.
Regards / Sincerely,
