Now here are my proposals:
15 contestants. Some of the best male singers over the past 2 decades. They will go head to head, and we will choose a winner. The best male singer in the past 2 decades!
But how does this work?
- We start Round 1 with 15 professional male singers from the past 2 decades. Each perform on a chosen song
- We listen to each's song, and then based on their performance in the song, we give them a rating out of 10. There are 5 selected judges who will do the same. These 5 judges also will have a team of 3 singers, and will do the song selections for them. Kind of like the Gharanas in SRGMP.
- We average the scores after Round 1, and the playback singer with the lowest score is eliminated. We then move to Round 2 with 14 singers. And keep going till there is a winner!
Now, I plan to keep these 15 singers as they were:
- Hariharan
- Javed Ali
- Kumar Sanu
- Shankar Mahadevan
- Himesh Reshammiya
- K.K.
- Kunal Ganjawala
- Sukhwinder Singh
- Kailash Kher
- Mohit Chauhan
- Rahat Fateh Ali Khan
- Sonu Nigam
- Abhijeet
- Shaan
- Udit Narayan
- ssk13809
- someone999
- cutiepie rani
Now, each judge will have a team of three singers, make it in such a way that one singer is a veteran, one a recently established and another somewhere between these two.
Now, the cache-on how would the scoring pattern be?
- Since the game should be kept simple and unbiased, there will be a combined average of both the judges and audience scores.
- To keep the scoring unbiased and to keep interest on the game, not only the judges, the audience will also play a very important role in the voting.
- There will NOT be a poll, instead, the judges will post their comments and along with their marks, and so will the audience (IF members.)
- The audience will post their comments onto how and why these marks were given, that is their pros and cons. ONLY those posts will be valid. Just posting plain marks without any comments by the audience will be INVALID. its strict, yes, but needed to prevent unnecessary spamming and biasness.
- It will be the judges responsibility to attract maximum audience participation, just as it happens in the real TV shows. Sounds good?
- Example, if judges give score of 8,9,9,8 and 7, then the average comes out to be 41/5=8.2
- irrespective of the number of audience votes, their average, for example, comes out to be 7 (say 10 people give 7 each), then the final score will be 8.2 plus 7 divided by 2=7.6, which will be the final score.
- the scoring range will be strictly limited between 5 and 10.
- the songs will be chosen solely by the judges and they will PM me their FINAL selection ONLY. Then the round will start and each round will have a time for 48 hours from the opening to the scoring pattern. Once I write the comment "time up", any post after it will not be counted.
- My only task is to create the threads and calculate the scores and conduct this game. I will not be the judge nor will do song selections. All the judges will send me only ONE PM with their final song selections of their entire team of singers. That song will be kept for the round.
