Frankly speaking, neither the like button nor the dislike button is going to do any favors in these boards unless members (which includes me) can get rid of their biases and starts to see things objectively. For instance, in the case of the like button, people are misusing it big time. I have seen fan-girls / fan-boys or specific groups of people ganging up to just hit the like button left and right, up and down, every now and then without any rhyme or reason. Some members even go as far as to "like" a post without even reading it, for the simplest reason that it was posted by his/her friend. If the "dislike" button follows the same trend, then seriously, will implementing it help the scenario one bit? The most sensible posts may end up getting the highest dislikes, while the most nonsensical, absolutely unreadable posts may end up getting the highest likes. Not to mention that the entire forum may end up in a state of tournament, members fighting against each other "liking" and "disliking" posts here and there.
Just my $0.02. ;-)
