Tanisha Mehta who returned to television as Vrinda in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi season 2, expressed her excitement about joining the iconic show. In an interview with Times of India TV, Tanisha discussed her role in the show and her journey into acting. She shared her decision to pursue acting as a career and her bold move to India, having grown up in New Zealand and Australia.
Expressing her excitement about doing Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi season 2, "It honestly feels surreal. Being chosen as the lead in such an iconic television series is a huge honour. I grew up watching shows like these-ones that become a part of people's daily lives and create lasting memories for families. To now be part of that legacy feels incredibly special. I'm aware of the responsibility that comes with it, and I'm giving it everything I have. I just hope the audience welcomes me with the same love they've always given to this show. I get goosebumps every time I think about it."
When asked about the challenges of adjusting to the strong Indian accent, given her upbringing in New Zealand and Australia, Tanisha explained that she had worked extensively on her Hindi. She took Hindi and Urdu classes, attended diction and voice modulation workshops, and spent hours watching television. She also listened to podcasts, recorded her auditions, and refined her skills by listening to herself and making corrections. She admitted it wasn't easy, but consistent effort and practice led to improvement.
Tanisha discussed her passion for acting, sharing when she realized it was her true calling, what prompted her move to India, and how her family responded to this significant life change. She mentioned that it wasn't always easy, and it took time for them to accept her career choice. However, once they did, they were fully supportive. They have consistently backed her decisions, even when uncertain, and their belief in her has been incredible. They actually encouraged her to move to India. Her mother has been her primary motivator. Tanisha added that she had been a Bollywood fan since childhood, always imagining herself in front of the camera. She moved to India in 2018.
