Why The Jonas Brothers Have Lost it :(

Over the past year and a half the Jonas Brothers have slowly been slipping into obscurity. On Monday night it was another round of bad news for Kevin, Joe and Nick when Disney Channel confirmed they have canceled Jonas L.A.

How did these three guys from New Jersey lose the interest of their worldwide fanbase? First off… it wasn't for not trying. You can only count on one hand the performers that work harder and dedicate more time to their craft than the Jonas Brothers. Was it the music? A little, in reality the guys haven't had any radio success since Burnin' Up hit the airwaves in 2008 and solidified them as a household name. In addition to that, Disney Channel and Radio Disney has overexposed them. But that still wasn't the real reason fans soured.

The Jonas Brothers worldwide fanbase has one dream in common, going on a date and for some, getting married to a Jonas Brothers. However, ever since day one we've heard about romances that have gone sour… including Amanda Michalka, Demi Lovato, Malese Jow, Miley Cyrus, Taylor Swift, and Zoe Myers to name a few. Out of those names listed, I'm going to highlight three.

1. Zoe Myers – First off, I need to disclose Zoe is a friend of mine. We first met backstage at the Orange County Fair in July of 2006 when her relationship with Kevin Jonas was in its early stages. I don't think we'll ever know the complete story here of what went wrong, but there is one thing that we do know. Zoe went from being the inspiration for some of the tracks on the Jonas Brothers self-titled album, to being mocked and slandered in the song Video Girl that was featured on A Little Bit Longer. One can only wonder why these clean cut guys would want to trash someone publicly like this… perhaps management enjoyed the personal attack a little too much to realize that good guys don't treat their ex-girlfriends like trash.

2. Taylor Swift – The summer of 2008 love was in the air with two stars that were shooting to the top. For the first time, Jonas fans actually accepted a Jonas girlfriend and didn't post death threats or hateful comments directed at America's sweetheart. Then it happened, Joe's famous breakup with Taylor over the phone. There was no need to take this to Judge Judy, America had one thing to say about Joe – jerk!

3. Demi Lovato – Once again, Joe Jonas walks into a fairytale relationship with friend Demi Lovato and breaks up with her after about four months (about the same length as his relationship with Taylor). It was a brutal breakup for Demi and Joe went on the record to state "It was my choice to breakup, but I love her as a friend."

Without a doubt, those three relationships have more to do with the downfall of the Jo Bros than their music. Teenage girls need to know that the boys know how to respect a girl. Unfortunately this last week we learned that the Jonas Brothers aren't even the type of guys that most girls would want as a friend. Since Demi Lovato's departure from the tour, there hasn't been one tweet from the personal accounts of Joe, Kevin, or Nick – nor a mention on Cambio to support her. Because of this, I reached out M2M Construction who handle PR for the Jonas Brothers to ask if there were any comments regarding the situation. Several emails and voicemails were left unreturned – it's safe to say they don't want to talk. Let's be honest here… just like when the Backstreet Boys rallied around AJ McLean, it's important to support, encourage, and love your friend Demi Lovato. Prove that you really "love her as a friend" in public, not behind closed doors.

I realized that their popularity has just gone down the drain...not completely, but a large part of it.
But I don't really think it has much to do with girls (though so many break ups really do annoy me) I mean, that's their personal life and we shouldn't judge them for that!
Personally, the only reason I'm not a huge fan of them anymore is because I don't like their music that much...but I think they're still pretty cool on the show. I mean, I don't hate them or like them that much :/
I wish them the best in the future though..and I really REALLY want Demi to feel better.

I agree with the fact that their popularity is not at the same level that it was last year. But if the reason for that is how their relationships have gone then I have nothing more to say on the matter. You should support your favorite artists for the music they put out and the work they do, not for their personal lives.

^ I know, I mean you can't judge an artist by their personal life enirely...you'll never know them by person.

^^ I know. And it really irks me when some fans think they know everything about them just by reading every magazine and web article about them or because they have met them a couple of times. Try being friends with them for a few weeks and then you can say that you know them.
