The real tragedy of this serial is NOT the Krishna Pratigya marraige but the Komal Adarsh marraige . The REAL victim in this foursome is Komal . . Krishna Pratigya r doing very well marraigewise today , they have fallen in love and pretty much everything is happening on Pratigya's terms there .........great sex , unconditional support of husband who barks at his parents in front of his wife , good food and clothing although both of them don't work to earn a living and always the satisfaction of being one up in the in laws arguments that spring up like mushrooms in the Thakur household inspite of freeloading there at THEIR expense . .
Adarsh has achieved what he wanted ............He has brought home a Thakur Girl to use as a leverage in case his sister is ever ill treated at the Thakur home .After bringing her via marraige .........He has thrown her in a corner of his house where two meals are given to the gal by his educated parents . The rest of the time she is treated with cold , polite , sophisticated contempt . She senses it inspite of her illiteracy and lashes out in an attempt to maintain her own dignity but fails each time as she is fighting an unseen enemy like a wild cat with claws ............the unseen enemy being the cold disdain for the illiterate by the Saxenas , camoflauged very well behind their educated , izzatdar veneer . Occasional kindness comes from Naina's end , who is a good human being . But it is not sufficient for Komal who yearns for love from her husband and genuine acceptance . 4 members of the house .........Her husband , Father in law , Dadi and Arushi never really liked her and accepted her , they either made fun of her on her face or behind her back . And Komal knows this .

It is constantly held against Komal that she is Sajjan Singh's daughter . You are after all your Dad's daughter , she is told by Dadi , Shamu and Adarsh . You are NOT from an izzatdar family . WE are the izzatdaar ones . We fear for our IZZAT . It is marred by associating with your family . We are Paying for it TODATE .

The contempt for Komal is so obvious now that even outsiders come and take pot shots at her , quickly recognising that her sasural gives her zero value . Aman has been openly contemptuous of Komal from his very first encounter , in which Adarsh spoke to him in ENGLISH in front of Komal , telling him to keep secrets from Komal while Komal stood , alone , ostracised in the room while the intellectual snobs discussed secrets under her nose .She was not without common sense . She UNDERSTOOD . It was the worst humiliation a wife could have and it was given to her by an educated Man called Adarsh Saxena who had no compunction using his education for such a low , hitting wife below the navel purpose .
Aman had the guts yesterday to blast Komal telling her that her family is NOT Izzatdar like HIS . Komal's husband sat quiet , agreeing with Aman . He did not support his wife and in a way backed Aman . His Wife was horrid , she DID come from that horrid family after all was Adarsh's expression on his face . Emboldened , Aman went on and on . It was KOMAL who had to leave the room and go inside , like a chastened spoilt child , unable to bear being alone in a crowd of unfriendly cold and hardened faces . I wish Adarsh is asked some questions .
1] Who told him to go and get assoiated with that horrid family as a son in law ? Had this horrid gal come to his door begging him to accept her as a wife or had HE gone to her father's door asking for hER hand ?
2] If Adarsh's sister Pratigya was out of control and hell bent on marrying her supposed stalker was it Komal's fault that Adarsh could not , as a big brother knock sense in his sister and stop her from doing such a foolhardy thing ? Why was Komal made a scapegoat so that she could be used as a leverage just coz Adarsh's sister was being stubborn ?
3] Do Izzatdar and Educated log do BARTERING with a firm negative purpose in mind ? The purpose being ........Hey U touch my sister and I will destroy YOURS [ The sister went there with her own free will , she was super confident that she cud take the bull by his horns btw]. What is remotely EDUCATED and IZZATDAR about this deal , like a drug peddling deal as someone pointed out recently ?
4] Not touching the girl with a barge pole todate and keeping the marraige unconsummated .........a girl HE seeked and brought in the house AGAINST her will btw , what is it , PAAP or PUNYA ? The treatment Adarsh has given Komal can actually put a girl in depression by giving her low self esteem at constant rejection by husband . What is remotely laudable about this deliberate cruelty ? What is izzatdar about it ?
5] When the girl tries to work on this infernal joke of a marraige in her own clumsy way , she is regarded as a joke and i even read somewhere in the forum that day that she is sex crazy , that she doesn't know the meaning of LOVE , that the Thakurs are one 'horny bunch' . So expecting consummation , acceptance from a husband is being HORNY and SEX CRAZY while constantly rejecting your spouse is the EDUCATED thing ? Says who ? Oh , I forgot , The rejection is ONLY till the spouse COMES UPTO YOUR STANDARDS . Ah ! Silly me , not understanding these IZZATDAR people .
6] But then I don't see Adarsh making any efforts to BRING KOMAL UPTO HIS STANDARDS either . I don't see him enrolling her in an adult education class , teaching her to read , instructing her on how to dress upto his taste , NOTHING . Like an eager to please puppy Komal has asked him REPEATEDLY what would please him . No answers were given , laughter at her attempts , MOCking them was given readily though . Puzzled , Unanswered , Komal plods on , valiantly doing YET another attempt in which she goofs up again .
7] The brother who bartered her ............Krishna , hardly even glances at her now . He is busy dancing after HIS love which he got after the bartering . At least Shakti MADE Adarsh marry marry Komal when he was going to ditch her at the altar , Krishna has not once bothered about how Komals marraige is proceeding , feeling responsible for her fate .
8] We see Adarsh lecturing Krishna on HOW TO SUPPORT SPOUSE BY GOING AGAINST FAMILY .........MEANING HIS SISTER . Does Adarsh do the same ? He does exactly the opposite , he JOINS his family in belittling Komal .
9] Inspite of an unconsummated marraige Komal loves Adarsh passionately . She was the only one who was furious enough with Jay to throw chappals at him for putting her husband in a wheel chair ..........his own family was astute and practical enough to ignore his predicament for the time being and instead focus on hooking the IG Family's RISHTA . Who loves Adarsh more .........His family or Komal ? Yet we dont find Adarsh responding to this passion , touched and choked up . We find him telling her coldly to butt out and that HIS sister Arushi isnt getting rishtas due to KOmals brother . I failed to see the relation , it was a PATHETIC LIE . The Krishna puursuing Pratigya is an old story , which resulted in an honorable institution called MARRAIGE . It was not as if Krishna RAPED Pratigya and left her and so Arushi isnt getting rishtas due to the BADNAAMI . How about being honest and admitting that maybe ......just may be Pratigyas open declaration in court of her KIDNAPPINg and Shamu's STUPID VOLUNTARY JAILING is not bringing the RISHTAS ?
Lastly ........will someone in this serial tell these three jokers ........Shamu , Adarsh and Aman that being IZZATDAR is a highly SUBJECTIVE TERM ? What is IZZAT to some may appear as EGO or VANITY to others . What is food to some may be another man's poison . Before flinging WE R IZZATDAR constantly on that young girl's face , please understand that BARTERING Yourself in marraige to hold a girl to ransom if needed inspite of being educated is hardly a deed of IZZAT , turning face the other way and pardoning an unremorseful youngster simply to get your sister married in that family is hardly a work of courage , constantly belittling your spouse publicly is hardly , hardly EDUCATED . It is in fact , DISGUSTING .
I hope Komal files for divorce under the IMPOTENCY clause and makes Adarsh's IMPOTENCY Public . I want to see how much IZZAT he gets in society after THAT one . Coz hey , she would be telling the TRUTH to the court , and telling the TRUTH is the IZZATDAR thing to do isn't it . Shamu himself taught this . Initially Adarsh voluntarily didnt touch her , now he is REALLY incapable of giving the girl a real marraige . The IZZATDAR thing to do would be to set this unwanted girl free once and for all by accepting the IMPOTENCY publicly . Then I would give Adarsh Saxena a thumbs up .
