Priya's fight is every woman's struggle

STAR Plus' new late prime time show Maryaada...Lekin Kab Tak? is a story of four women who are strong but at same time they are surrounded by men with evil intentions. Our protagonist Priya Pradhan who always follows the path of truth has gone into a lot of trauma in her life.

She is righteous and stood for all that is right. In the beginning she was an outgoing, sociable, friendly and communicative person but a terrible incident brought a transformation in her personality and she became reserved, guarded in her approach and frantic at the mere touch of a man.

We spoke to Priya Pradhan aka Riddhi Dogra who gets candid

Tell us about Priya Pradhan as a person?

"I am a small town girl who stays in at Gaziabad who believes in hardwork and always supports the truth, something I have learned from my father. At the same time I have gone through a lot of trauma which has completely shaken my life. But I am steadily learning how to fight and very soon I will be back to normal and whatever happens I won't leave the side of truth."

What's your take on new trend of highlighting social issues in show?

"There is no particular trend that we are taking up and as Riddhi I am very fortunate to take up this show which is contemporary in every house. Every episode will make us realise what's happening in our society."

What's your take on small town girl's struggle which happens on regular basis?

"There are many ladies from small town in Punjab and Haryana who are independent and not bother about male dominated society and they daily travel from the village to city. Transport in the cities like Gaziabad and other adjoining areas are not suitable for grown up girl to travel. I am sure all those ladies will relate to me and will support me in my struggle."

What's the USP OF Maryaada....?

"The concept and four leading characters –Priya,Devyani,Uttara and Divya and also actors like Indrani Halder,Rakesh Vashisht and Kamya Punjabi who do their work sincerely. The major point is when all the four ladies meet and open up against dominating male society and that's the reason for its bold family drama."

What's do you want to say about Aditya?

"He is very hardworking but at same he is helping me to get me out of the trauma and slowly and gradually we would be heading into a sweet relationship."

What message would you like to give to the viewers of STAR Plus and Maryaada?

"Please do watch our story as we are putting our whole heart and soul. On a daily basis we are working very hard to get everything right and please love and support us and do watch us."
