Warning:: Unfortunately, friends ...this is a slightly unfunny topic...bear with me and read at your own peril.
on the surface today's epi was just a filler. but it carried a few important messages. i know everyone saw the complete hold of bhauji over avdhesh, but i saw something else too...i saw his gullibility, his vulnerability , his innocent faith and most depressingly, the hopeless futility of his situation. i saw the forebodings of future days and a fate which lurks round the corner. we are happy he is going to marry arpita...but what is the end of a gangster, unless he somehow choses the path of reform. suddenly the inevitability of his future fate and the viciousness of the quagmire he is stuck in really hit home and left me with a strange melancholy. today i felt supremely sorry for my avdhesh, my heart suddenly felt heavy and ready to weep, to hold his hand and somehow offer some comfort, some solace, some respite in his difficult , scorching journey that he calls life.
...not least because of the logic he gave to his mom, but also because of what panditji said about getting killed in a false encounter, or that of a bomb being lobbed at his car...
here is a simple man at heart, an uncomplicated, basically shy man, who thinks the right things, has the right sensibilities, is the messiah of the poor and downtrodden, is decent to a fault and chivalrous beyond reason. he is a man who deserved a good, peaceful, happy and carefree life, simple yet rich in love, compassion and friendship...qualities he values most. he deserves love, which thankfully he will get. but he deserves so much more. come to think of it, there is an innocence in his whole gang, childlike , simple and honest. for a motley gang of people who play with death everyday, they retain a fresh transparency and innocence that touches to the core and brings a tear to the eye. there is something deeply touching, and yet disturbing and depressing as we see the gambol along playfully.
I could feel the loneliness of a man in Avdhesh's situation. I felt too disheartened to watch the epi for my customary second time. i could go on but i find i cant.
i sleep uneasy tonight for my poor , innocent, deep-down -gentle and supremely unfortunate avdhesh. i sleep uneasy for a man who has an angel's soul but trapped in the trappings of the devil's footman...
I only hope that destiny, and in this case that means the creatives, think a little positively, and give him a fair chance to redeem his life out of this quagmire and set a new path for himself , far away from the shadow of crime....
