Bowled over by Bintan | |||||

There's nothing like combining business with pleasure.
Actor Rukhsar who was recently shooting for her upcoming film aboard a cruiseliner near Singapore spent five exciting days at the Bintan Islands near Indonesia.
She shares her memories with CS:
But naturally...
I was in Bintan more than a month ago. We boarded a small boat from the cruiseliner and went to the islands.
The weather was pleasant with frequent drizzles.
A good chunk of the island is made up of a lush forest cover.
The beaches were very clean with smooth sands and turquoise waters.
I explored most of the forested areas on an electronic bicycle.
As our resort was at one end of Bintan, it was a long ride through the countryside.
I have spent my childhood in UP in a large bungalow with a big garden and all.
It felt great to experience nature at such close quarters once again.
One for the road
In Bintan, I made friends with this guy who owned ATVs (all-terrain vehicle).
He made me ride one in the dense forest.
He later convinced me to do a jumping fox stunt from a 14-storey building! I got a huge rush of adrenaline when I was suspended into thin air.
Visiting the elephant farm was another fun activity; there, I petted a baby elephant and posed next to her.
I also saw a really pretty mosque made out of wood and stone too.
My shop stop
I have to shop wherever I go.
There was this street called Pasar Olhe Olhe that sold souvenirs.
I bought some mugs with Bintan logos, T-shirts, bags and few Batik dresses.
I also purchased some scented candles, soaps and lights for my home and a few other knick-knacks
