😕 The only thing I find tolerable about Karan Johar's films are the starpower and great performances from Kajol in the major blockbusters he has directed (Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham, and My Name Is Khan). Even the most recent film he produced, We Are Family, Kajol was the one who walked away with the appreciation and critical acclaim.
The bottom line is that without Kajol, Karan Johar's films would have fallen flat. His films without Kajol (Kal No Nal Ho and Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna) were not that big of hits to fall in the same category as Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham, and My Name Is Khan. With Kajol, his films are tolerable and she makes them watchable despite the same "rhona dhona" over and over again.
What else is so special about Karan Johar's films? Nothing that I can see except Kajol!
