Its incredible....incredible....unbelievable....how the cv's etched the character of Maan Singh Khurana and how he keeps on going from strength to strength! I CaNNot BELIEVE it!
Neva outa sync, neva loosing steam, Still larger than life!
Damn if Gurmeet isnt a genius at playng Maan!! He has done it sooo well!!
Maan is still Maan!
OHGOD! His lazy stance while watching geet today, the way he hid behind the pillar(nuthing exaggerated in manner or expression, still unfazed), the way he was unruffled or not-a-bumbling-moron wen Meera found him peeping there(still cool confident),
And the way he so spontaneously pointed her out, and just plainly stated how beautiful she was!
No stammering (like the show the love-sick puppies in other shows who do 180 on their character the moment they are in love)!
I love how he is shown to be still cool and still a bit impersonal with acquaintances(like Meera). Maan is an aloof character(even before the sameera fiasco i think, cuz he had told geet how he had been collecting his symbols of mistakes from childhood), so yes hes still his cool self with others.
And thts how it should be.Only Geet has the key to his emotions and his heart and only for her can he change/adapt.
Then the way he just barged into her room , and didnt care, the way he sat by the tub with his hands on the edge, and the way he so softly challenged her.....ohmygod!
I LOvED todays episode and geet/drashti as much as always. Shes one amazing actress who manages to portray a whole range of emotions in one expression Its neva-just happy, just sad, just angry. Its a whole gamut of emotions.
Like yesterday(just one example) wen repeating those words after maan, there was 'a long awaited happiness', 'wonderment at the benevolence of the man she loved', and unmeasurable amount of love in her eyes and half smile.
The thing is Maan is a very difficult character to portray. He is regal,graceful, passionate yet cold and aloof, proud, honest, intolerant towards any weaknesses or failures, intelligent(oh yes), alert , undaunted. His character demands extreme reactions yet his demeanor demands almost ascetic composure. Maan cannot be shown emoting by speaking too many words, he has to be extremely sparing with his gestures and stance(just the right amount of movement), his nuances cannot be of the help-me, pleading, ready-to-believe, starry-eyed kind.
He is and has been always , knowing of people(perceptive), and consistent. for ex--His interactions with Dadima havent changed till now. He neva was very sweet-good-boy and i-wont-argue-and very-polite kind, and he still isnt that with her.He has been and still can be curt, though he loves her.
Maan, by nature, exudes confidence, even when in doubt. So shud his gestures. every one of them, everytime.
And this is what the CV's have been extremely successful in doing! Making out Maan to be THIS BRILLIANT and KEEPING him consistently in character.
Hats off for such an impossible feat considering previous caricatures of 'strong Heroes' on Indian television.
I am just completely blown away by this show. Geet-Maan , just cannot explain enuf!
