SAXSENAS SHOCKED, KOMAL'S DREAMS DENIED FOR NOW
Dadi was looking forward to Komal making her a great grandmother. Nainaji joined in and gave a short speech to Komal doling out advice about the do's and don'ts during pregnancy. Komal listened quietly not ready to correct their misunderstanding of her condition. She was more interested in turning their expectations into reality. Again taking a page out of Prats and Krishna's book. Do you and Adarsh come up with anything original?😲
Adarsh walked out of his office. Komal gave him the third degree for not keeping his word and returning home early. "Why haven't you come home yet? You used long English words to make promises but where are you roaming around now?" Adarsh defended himself "Why are you scolding me I was just leaving, you are delaying me by talking to me right now". Disappointed, Komal hung up on him.
Adarsh left for home on his bike unaware that someone in a white sedan was hell bent on chasing him, swerving out of control as it sped through town. The driver behind the wheel of the car finally rear ended Adarsh's bike sending him on a flying leap to land on the road side while his bike skidded to the side as the locals watched in horror. The car stopped and the driver adjusted his/her side view mirror to ensure that the victim was truly down on the ground for the count. Adarsh caught sight of the driver or at least his silver bracelet before he passed out as the car sped away without anyone stopping or questioning him/her. Why were the locals so indifferent in taking the driver to task or even reporting the crime by noting the car's license plate? A crime had been committed, assault with a deadly weapon, a car.
Arushi congratulated her bhabhi on her impending motherhood and thrilled at the thought of a new baby coming to their house. Komal asked her help in selected the perfect outfit so she could deck herself like a new bride since it was a special day, the day the family had heard the news. Komal was day-dreaming about the evening ahead while the crowd gathered around Adarsh and wondered if anyone had noted the license plate number? Good presence of mind ask, to catch the perpetrator who seemed to have planned this premeditated hit and run but too bad no one acted on it.
The crowd on the street stopped Aman and asked for his help. He flipped the man on the road over and was shocked to see Adarsh's bloodied face. Komal was all decked up in her finery to meet her husband for her special night. She paced the living room waiting for Adarsh's arrival, the anticipation making her restless. When Prof. returned home she was disaapointed at Adarsh's delay in returning home to her. Was Aman behaving like a detached handler of the matter on hand or was he the perpetrator of the crime against Adarsh? You decide! This was his saale-saheb to be.😕
Aman called Prof. to give him bad news. Adarsh had been in an accident. Prof. was in shock. Aman asked him to get the hospital asap as Adarsh was in critical condition. When Prof. dropped the phone Komal demanded to know from the caller what he had said to upset her sasurji. Aman repeated Adarsh had been in a serious accident. Shocked Komal dropped the receiver and stood in silence as the family watched on.
TAKURS THRILLED, KRISHNA'S HURT BY SS'S REJECTION
Prats ran to center stage where the rest of the Takurs were present as if they knew an announcement was going to be made. She called upon everyone to listen and announced that Komal was going to be a mother. A rare sight indeed to see a room full of Takurs all smiling and in a happy mood! Gone was the animosity and hatred for that moment. Babies do change the world by even just the thought of their imminent arrival.
Takurain was beaming with pride, even a smile directed at Prats. She was being magnanimous for she had just received a happy news. Her vengeful hatred for Prats was forgotten. SS looked shocked, Kesar was genuinely pleased. Amazing given she had just lost her own baby very recently. Her dreams shattered and still she was happy for her sister-in-law's happiness. Now there's a woman with a golden heart who accepts happiness of another as her own. Ganti Dadi was thrilled. When they had common grounds for happiness they came together as a family and rejoiced. Maybe they need to pay closer attention to that. Prats enjoy the moment for it's going to be a while before you get another smile from your sasuma. SS jumped to his feet and like he did when Prats was pronounced pregnant he was floating on cloud 9. Little did he know his beti was playing the same game his bahu had played along with earlier? How will they handle Komal's lies and fiasco? He asked Ganti Dadi to ring her bell signalling her happiness at the good news.
SS told KN to make him a grandpa very soon. He embraced KN who looked confused. KN, you are used to seeing Krishna get all the love and embraces before, but never you. It's your lucky day, enjoy it you never know when it may come again. Maybe with the falling out with Krishna SS might start leaning on you once again. Ganti Dadi was all smiles as she nodded in approval. It is not flesh and blood but the heart which makes us fathers and sons - Friedrich von Schiller

SS turned and headed towards Krishna who waited for him with open arms. He said he was thrilled and raised his open arms as he moved forward only to change his mind and fold them overhead just in the nick of time and refuse his ladla son a hug for the first time in his life😲😕. He had clearly communicated that he had had a change of heart. Ganti Dadi looked on with sadness.😕

SS looked at Krishna with defiance as he rejected him knowing fully well that that moment of rejection would impact him. He walked back to his cot and sat down only to lean forward weighed down by the import of his actions.
In shock and rejected Krishna curled his hands into a fist and dropped it to his sides. turned to look at Prats for some solace. How lucky that they could communicate without words! She understood his pain and rejection and stood by him literarily and figuratively.

Amma seemed the only person thrilled at the rejection of her son by SS. She is one sick woman beyond any stretch of the imagination who takes pleasure in the grief and unhappiness of her own son. She smirked, smiled and looked on with pride and satisfaction for a score settled. Takurain didn't seem to her son and bahu's plight at the moment. She rejoiced in watching her pati get a sadistic pleasure as her own flesh and blood was rejected by his father, it thrilled her beyond words for the opportunity to say --take that Prats. Who needs enemies if the very person who raised you can be this supportive? Sometimes growing up means doing what may be unpleasant and unacceptable to one's own family and taking a step into the unknown to learn a valuable lesson or know something that needed to be known for our own well being. This was one such moment for Krishna. The light went out of his eyes as he struggled to cope with the churning emotions inside him.

SS sat back on the couch saddened, and disappointment by his own actions. He reflected on his own behavior and his body bent over by the force of dealing with his inner demons that had raised it's ugly head today. Sure SS had raised his hand at Krishna on a couple of occasions but it seemed like this was the first time he had denied his ladla beta a hug or affection since the day he was born.
He fought an internal battle as emotions flitted across his face and clasped his hands together in an attempt to control his feelings and not expose his vulnerability before the entire family. SS had been defeated by his own pride and ego when he denied Krishna an embrace. The balance in the father-son relationship had been shifted. the gulf between them had widened. This rejection was from a father who was bent on making his son pay for defying his orders at the havan to exclude Prats and his gall to support Prats and stand by her and willfully against the family that raised him.
The body language of SS spoke volumes. He felt defeated as he bent forward hurting at his own actions. SS reverently folded his palms together in front of his mother in response to her questioning and disapproving expressions directed at him. Krishna watched his father's gesture, hurt, rejection, confusion and maybe for the first time a little comprehension dawned about what his father's actions communicated to him today.
